Malinda Williams & Fiancé Celebrate Engagement with Epic Photo Shoot Honoring Famous Black Couples

Malinda Williams is engaged, and she decided to use this good news to celebrate black women who have empowered other young black women to strive for love.

It's never too late to find love, and when it comes to matters of the heart, it is never a good thing to settle. The 43-year-old actress shared the excellent news of her engagement on her Instagram page with a series of posts.

This is the third time Williams who's been married and divorced twice is saying "Yes." But now, the "Soul Food" actress who shares a son with ex-husband, Mekhi Phifer will be marrying her best friend, journalist and digital media specialist Tariq M. Walker.

Not only did Malinda announce her union with Walker in style, but she also went all the way out by deciding to celebrate famous black couples who have shown great examples of what a beautiful marriage should be.

In the first picture where she announced her engagement, the 43-year-old could be seen smiling heartily and holding Walker's face as she stared into his beautiful eyes in a lovely emerald green dress; she looked stunning.

The picture was captioned,

"We said Yes!⁣...because the greatest of these is LOVE.⁣"

WHO ARE THE COUPLES MALINDA CELEBRATED

Williams announced her engagement to soon to be husband on National Proposal Day, for which she is an ambassador. To celebrate the special day and moment, she transformed into three different iconic couples which she fancies in a tribute called “3 Icons of Love.”

To honor these couples and their love story, Williams and Walker will recreate and take pictures of their favorite moments of the pairs. The actress' choices were Barack and Michelle Obama, Malcolm X and Betty Shabazz and Billie Dee Williams & Diana Ross.

Malinda shared images of her and her fiance replicating certain moments in the couples' lives and also posted pictures of the times that were recreated on her page. Beneath each picture, Malinda added inspirational words to celebrate and depict the purpose of the tribute.

One of her pictures' caption suggests that after being unsuccessful in the marriage institution twice, this third time is the catch and it's worth all the wait.

“We Said Yes!⁣ ?⁣…because you don’t marry someone you can live with,” the couple wrote. “You marry someone you cannot live without. ⁣??” Malinda captioned an image.
