The Blast reports that in records from the State of California Franchise Tax Board, Howard failed to pay his taxes in 2010. The current amount liable to him is $143,538.61 inclusive of interest and penalties.

A document has been sent to the actor to warn him of possession of his assets should he fail to pay his debt immediately.

This is not the first time Howard’s attention was called for a tax lien. In 2010, he owed the IRS $1 million and in 2006, $200k. The actor settled both in the past years.

Since his current debt is much smaller, it should not be a problem for Howard to pay up soon. Besides, he has a successful television show that reportedly pays him $175k monthly. “Empire” will be returning for a sixth season.

Moreover, he recently purchased a $1M seven-carat diamond ring for his engagement to his ex-wife, Mira Pak. That should say a lot about the actor’s financial status.

Howard and Pak made many believe in love the second time around after announcing their second engagement in December. They were previously married in 2013 but called in quits after two years while Mira was pregnant with their first child. Sparks flew again in early 2018 which prompted Howard to get down on one knee on Christmas Eve. The emotional clip of the romantic occasion is proof that these two are meant to be together.

Meanwhile, Howard was recently on the news after expressing support for his “Empire” co-star Jussie Smollett. The 35-year-old was accused of staging his own attack and was charged with falsifying information to the authorities. Howard, who portrays Smollett’s father in their Fox show stood by the actor by expressing his love for him on social media. Weeks later, all charges against Smollett were dropped with many questioning the sudden turn of events. Smollett is currently being demanded to pay $130,000K in investigation fees brought about by his alleged false report despite the decision of prosecutors to drop his case. Maybe he and Howard could have a sit down soon to chat about their obligations.
