Rihanna Pays Tribute to Her Mom Monica Fenty on Her Birthday Amid Ongoing Legal Battle with Dad

Rihanna showed appreciation for her mother, Monica Fenty on her recent birthday. The singer thanked her for teaching her "strength, love, and forgiveness," in the midst of her strained relationship with her legally strapped father.

It’s Rihanna’s mother’s birthday and the singer paid homage to her by crediting her with a lot of things.

Rihanna’s mom, Monica Fenty turned a year older on Friday and love came her way in the form of an Instagram tribute from her daughter. A throwback photo of Monica was shared by the 31-year-old entertainer as she praised her for her “true beauty” and enumerated values she learned from her.

Rihanna revealed in her caption that her mother taught her lessons of “strength, love, forgiveness, sacrifice, hard work, and helping others.” She also proudly lauds her for epitomizing “what true beauty looks like.”

“Love you and I appreciate you!” she shouts out to Monica and adds, “Thank you God for choosing this wonderful being to be my mom!”

Rihanna’s heartfelt message is a glaring contrast to the recent events placing her father in a bad light. Ronald Fenty has been slapped with a new lawsuit involving his shady dealings implicating his superstar daughter. YouTube star Chef Henny, born Harvey Justice, has accused Ronald of falsely promoting himself as Rihanna’s representative in urging him to sign with his entertainment company. Ronald claims his daughter was involved in Fenty Entertainment but the singer, in reality, isn’t. He also made empty promises to Harvey to the tunes of hundreds of thousands of dollars.

This is not the first time Ronald has been sued for dealing under the misconception that his daughter is on board. In fact, Rihanna herself filed a lawsuit against him in January for the same reason. According to the star, Ronald made arrangements for a tour in Latin America and shows in Los Angeles, none of which was of her knowledge or approval. The lawsuit was the culmination to a string of cease and desist letters she previously sent him to request him to stop speaking on her behalf. But they appeared to have fallen on deaf ears.

Rihanna’s father reportedly abused her mother when she was young, an experience that drew a wedge between them. She later made amends with him in an effort to patch up her own troubled romantic relationships as she too became a victim of domestic abuse like her mother. Now it appears their relationship is once again strained due to her father’s shady ways. Luckily for the singer, she has a mother who teaches her the values that will help her live through the problems her father brings.
