Tiny Harris on Why She Turned down 'RHOA'
Tameka "Tiny" Harris reveals why she turned down an offer to be on "Real Housewives of Atlanta" despite being based in the Georgia capital.
"Real Housewives of Atlanta" tends to be a quite controversial show, with a lot of its cast members picking fights against one another season after season. This is exactly why Tiny Harris chose not to join the show despite its management's eagerness in making her join.
During an exclusive interview with HollywoodLife, she shares why picking fights with "RHOA" cast members isn't something she wants to do.
“Nothing against the show – I love the show – I just think that… I don’t really want to get in that. I love all the girls and I would like to stay friends with everyone. I don’t want to be beefing with no one about nothing.”
A New RHOA Opportunity
While Tiny turned down the producers' offer, she actually helped them in getting one of their most important cast members.
“Back in the day they asked me about doing the Housewives of Atlanta and I actually told them that they should call Kandi [Burruss]. I gave them Kandi’s number because I was in the middle of my own show; I had the Tiny & Toya show at that time, I was an executive producer. It was just me and Toya and I just had more creative control. My name was in the credits in the headline of the show and I didn’t want to go and be a cast member. I liked where I was.”
Tiny's Own Ventures
Although Harris' show "Tiny & Toya" ended a while back and "RHOA" continues to be a hit TV show, Tiny has no regrets. In fact, she's been quite busy herself, releasing new music and starring in her very own reality TV show with her husband entitled "T.I. & Tiny: Friends & Family Hustle."
Tiny's new single which she released last May 2, 2019, is entitled "I [expletive] <3 U," which is a song she wrote for her husband T.I., a love letter, to put things simply.
While Tiny tried to get away from the drama that comes with the hit Bravo TV show, her own show is definitely something interesting as well.
Just a couple of months back, Tiny's hair accidentally caught fire, and the whole incident was filmed. Sparks flew from her hair after she accidentally got too close to a candle during a party for her husband.
The singer remained calm about it, but her husband ended up making the incident more humorous by making fun of his wife.
“When I tell everybody that this party’s gonna be lit, I didn’t mean like this!”
Tiny & T.I don't pick fights with their friends and family as much as "RHOA" cast members do, but their show is definitely not boring and has some pretty epic moments, too.
