Shemar Moore to Reportedly Stick around for the Third Season of SWAT

CBS has announced that Shemar Moore will continue to star “S.W.A.T” as the popular police drama series enters its third season.

The broadcast network made the announcement two weeks before the show’s Season 2 finale, as reported by TV Line.

The 49-year-old actor recently melted hearts after sharing an Instagram photo of three of his most loyal fans who supported his clothing line.

Among CBS’ 17 drama series, “S.W.A.T.” ranks 13th with an average of 5.3 million viewers. It has more massive viewership than “SEAL Team,” “Criminal Minds,” “Ransom,” and “The Red Line.”

Moore leads the crime drama, which based on the 1975 series and movie of the same name, “S.W.A.T.,” as former S.W.A.T. sergeant Daniel “Hondo” Harrelson, who has assembled a specialized tactical unit that is the last stop in law enforcement in Los Angeles.

Other stars in the series include Jay Harrington, Lina Esco, Kenny Johnson, David Tan, and Lex Russell. Another remarkable character is Captain Jessica Cortex, played by Stephanie Sigman. Captain Cortex is the commanding officer of the LAPD Metropolitan Division and Hondo’s ex.

The show’s executive producers are Aaron Rahsaan Thomas, Shawn Ryan, Justin Lin, Neal Moritz, Marney Hochman, Danielle Woodrow, Pavun Shetty, Allison Cross, Craig Gore, Billy Gierhart, and Andy Dettman.

Moore previously starred on “Criminal Minds” as Derek Morgan. He left the show after Season 11.

By patronizing his clothing line, fans also help finance the National MS Society. The actor started supporting the organization after his mother was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis a few years ago. He has been helping raise public awareness around multiple sclerosis.

Part of the proceeds from his store goes directly to the National MS Society. He encourages fans to buy the merchandise by offering them the chance of being featured on his Instagram.
