“That was me at my worst...I thought she was saying that I was a piece of s–t and I sucked."

STERN'S APOLOGY

Stern famously sparred with Williams back in March when he called her a “jealous b***” after she described him as “Hollywood.”

Their months-long feud finally ended recently when Stern apologized to the talk show host in the article for his May cover story with The Hollywood Reporter. He claimed he misunderstood Williams’ comment and was embarrassed by his retaliation.

“That was me at my worst,” he said. “I thought she was saying that I was a piece of s–t and I sucked. But as [I hear it] now, I don’t see it as an offense at all. If ‘Hollywood’ means that I’ve evolved in some way and the show has changed, then yeah, she hit the nail on the head.”

"If you never apologized to me ever in your life, you would still be one of the most influential people in shaping my career. You and Oprah, that’s it.”

WILLIAMS' RESPONSE

Williams expressed her relief at their feud finally ending when she addressed Stern’s apology on the Hot Topics segment of her show on Monday. She admitted feeling hurt when he fought her but claims she never once considered him an enemy. In fact, she will always place him in high regard, next to Oprah.

“Howard, you know what, if you never apologized to me ever in your life, you would still be one of the most influential people in shaping my career. You and Oprah, that’s it.”

Wiliams, who considers Stern her mentor during their days together on radio continued,

“The idea that you apologized, — he went on the air and ripped me a new one for no damn reason, because I knew I was right — then in this article, it was a thick article, he goes on to say that he loves me and that I might’ve seen something in him that maybe he didn’t see, or something like that, and, [he says] that he’s kind of embarrassed for ripping me on the air, so he’s pulled that from the archives. You’ll never hear that on repeat…I love him!”

THE CURRENT TURBULENCE IN WILLIAMS' LIFE

Howard’s apology comes in the heels of Williams’s turbulent life culminating with her filing for divorce from her husband of 22 years, Kevin Hunter. Williams was dealing with serious health issues and treating her drug and alcohol addiction when she learned her husband had impregnated his rumored longtime mistress, Sharina Hudson.

While she kept mum about the rumors and pretended everything was okay in their marriage, she finally cut ties with him when she confronted Hunter after learning his mistress gave birth to his daughter sometime in March.

Hunter, who’s also Williams’ manager and co-producer of her show has reportedly been fired by the host as they battle over the terms of their divorce. He is seeking spousal and child support as he shares 19-year-old Kevin Hunter, Jr. with her.
