ZACH SUFFERS UNKNOWN PAIN

Zach Roloff, 29, recently explained on the TLC reality show that he’s been having pain over most of his body. The issue was so serious that it was difficult for him to pick up his son Jackson, 1.

On the “Little People, Big World” episode Zach explained:

"I've been having a lot of pain in my back and my legs. There's like a tightness to my thighs, there's a weakness in my knees. Something's not going right."

PAIN ONCE CAUSE HIM TO BE PARALYZED

However, Zach couldn’t quite pinpoint what could be the culprit for his health problem. The reality star helps on the family farm during pumpkin season, he also plays and coaches soccer, and he’s a father to a growing toddler.

Whatever brought on the ailment once caused him to be "paralyzed for a minute" while holding Jackson. Not wanting to leave the issue without knowing the cause, Zach and his wife Tori Roloff had an official MRI done.

MRI SHOWED HIS SCARY DIAGNOSIS

Speaking about her fears Tori confessed: "It's scary, because I can't help him, and it's also like we don't know what's causing the issue.” The results from the MRI showed that things weren’t good for Jackson’s father.

Zach was diagnosed with multilevel degenerative disc disease which caused spinal stenosis. According to Zach, "It's a common thing with people with achondroplasia."

Achondroplasia is the most common form of short-limbed dwarfism. Jackson was also born with the hereditary or genetically mutated disorder.

THE DIAGNOSIS IS COMMON FOR LITTLE PEOPLE

Speaking about spinal stenosis, Zach added: "but average-sized people only get it when they're like 60." The disease causes the bulging and degeneration of discs in his spine which then pinch the nerves.

"I AM SCARED"

The Roloff’s would need to see a spinal specialist to figure out whether he would have to undergo surgery now or later. Zach admitted that finding out he’d have to undergo massive surgery left him "in denial."

He added: "Two months, three months ago, I was in a soccer tournament, and now I have arthritis in my back? What's going on here?" His wife also shared his fears saying: "I am scared. That's the worst case scenario in my head for him to have surgery. I'm trying really hard not to panic."

ZACH'S PREVIOUS HEALTH SCARE

In 2017, Zach dealt with another health scare related to his dwarfism. He had excess cerebrospinal fluid his entire life and had a shunt installed when he was a small child.

During the first season of the original run of the reality show when Zach was only 12, he suffered a scare, in the episode “Zach’s Emergency.” At the time, the shunt failed and had to be replaced.

“Little People, Big World” airs on Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET on TLC.
