Snoop Dogg's Post about Black Soldiers on Memorial Day Sparks Heated Debate
Snoop Dogg posted quite a controversial meme for Memorial Day, and people definitely let him know how bad it was.
Snoop Dogg has always been quite vocal about things, and Memorial Day was no different. However, this time it seems people were not about to let it slide, especially since the meme he posted is something insensitive.
The post showed a black soldier crying, with a bold text saying "R.I.P. to all the black soldiers that died fighting for a country that never fought for them," captioning it "Memorial Day."
Insensitive Meme
People quickly flooded his comment section with their thoughts, a lot of them disagreeing with what he said.
“So the union didn’t fight to free the slaves? The emancipation proclamation wasn’t real? Damn snoop, your mind is just as dull as your music.”
“this post goes against what martin luther king wanted”
“I get what you’re saying, but as somebody who served, we didn’t see race. We’re all brothers in arms and I lost good friends, black and white.”
Outspoken Snoop
Snoop Dogg has always had controversial opinions, but this time it was way overboard. A couple of months ago, he revealed that his marriage was almost over so many times because of his outrageous behavior.
Shante Broadus has been married to Snoop since 1997. The two of them may be one of the longest-lasting marriages in the music industry, but according to the rapper, they would not have lasted this long if not for Charlie Winston.
The 46-year-old revealed that when he filed for divorce in 2004, Charlie suggested that he surprise his wife with a renewal of vows.
“It was such a beautiful surprise because my wife didn’t know what was going on. Charlie worked with me on this because we were having tough times. That’s why I love him so much, because he knew we were having tough times. He said, ‘This is what you do, you got to do a renewing.’ I’m like, ‘What is all that? We done already got married, I’m not finna get married again.’"
In the end, Snoop and Shante ended up getting married again, and this ultimately saved their relationship.
