Country singer and songwriter Granger Smith has lost his 3-year-old son to a "tragic accident." In a heartbreaking post, the singer and his wife, Amber Emily Smith, revealed that their precious child could not survive the mishap.

The couple shared the devastating news on their Instagram accounts that their little boy, River Kelly Smith, lost his life following a tragic accident.

“I have to deliver unthinkable news. We’ve lost our youngest son, River Kelly Smith. Following a tragic accident, and despite doctor’s best efforts, he was unable to be revived,” the heartbroken father wrote

Furthermore, Smith revealed that he and his wife decided to donate his organs to children in need so that they can have a second chance at life.

“Riv was special. Everyone that met him knew that immediately. The joy he brought to our lives cannot be expressed and his light will be forever in our hearts. If there are words to say more, I cannot find them in this moment,” Smith continued. “Love the ones close to you. There has never been a more difficult moment for us than this.”

Smith and wife Kelly requested their wellwishers to send donations to Dell Children’s Medical Center in River’s name in lieu of flowers or gift.

The duo shares two other children, London and Lincoln Monarch.

Singers including Luke Bryan, Kane Brown, Jake Owen, Chase Rice, and Dylan Scott took to the comments section to express condolences.

Previously, professional beach volleyball player Morgan Miller and Olympic skier Bode Miller lost their daughter to a pool accident.

Morgan reached out to the devastated parents through her Instagram stories. Resharing Smith’s photo of River, she wrote: “My heart breaks. Another baby gone too soon.”

According to a representative of Smith, little River died due to a drowning accident at home.
