Kate Middleton Reacts as Little Prince Louis Sucks His Thumb at 'Trooping the Colour' Celebration
Kate Middleton had a smooth approach after seeing her son, Prince Louis, sucking his thumb during the Trooping the Colour celebration, which was quite effective.
Joining the rest of the royal family, Prince Louis, 1, made his first appearance on the balcony at Buckingham Palace for the Queens 93rd birthday celebration, in which he displayed a natural reflex of most babies -- sucking his thumb.
A NATURAL REFLEX
While it is a common behavior for babies, his older siblings Prince George and Princess Charlotte, failed to manifest the habit of sucking their thumbs on official events.
However, their youngest couldn’t help but show his sucking reflexes throughout the day, including his appearance from the inside of the palace, seen through a window.
KATE MIDDLETON’S SMOOTH APPROACH
The young prince’s mother, Duchess of Cambridge, quickly pacified her son and had a smooth solution to Louis’ self-soothing reflex. While being held by Prince William, who also tried to remove his son’s thumb, Middleton gently took Louis’ thumb out of his mouth while keeping a smile intact.
After her approach worked, the tot proceeded to clap and wave in high-spirits throughout the ceremony while being carried. Their family continued to watch Typhoon jets and Puma and Chinook helicopters flying past the venue and showing the Red Arrows, from their balcony view.
Parades were set for the day’s festivities along with a 41-gun salute in Green Park by the King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery and a fly-past showing the Red Arrows.
TROOPING OF THE COLOUR
Saturday’s event celebrated the Queen’s official birthday, which happens yearly in a formal event called Trooping the Colour. The day began with her Majesty’s arrival at the Horse Guard’s Parade where a Sovereign’s Escort from the Household Cavalry made their salutes.
Parades were set for the day’s festivities along with a 41-gun salute in Green Park by the King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery and a fly-past showing the Red Arrows.
The royal family was in attendance during the celebration, including the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, who made her first debut after giving birth to baby Archie over a month ago.
