Pauley Perrette Reveals She’s 'Terrified' of Mark Harmon and Will Never Return to NCIS
It’s been a year since the actress shocked fans with her departure from “NCIS” after 15 seasons playing one of the most beloved characters of the show, but she still has to deal with fans asking her to return.
50-year-old actress Pauley Perrette took to Twitter on June 7, apparently fed up with fans trying to get her to return to “NCIS,” and she revealed her true feelings about her former co-star 67-year-old Mark Harmon.
Previous reports had implied that Perrette’s departure from the police procedural drama series had something to do with Harmon, or at least to his dog, with the two allegedly involved in a feud for the last two seasons Perrette appeared on the show.
However, the actress has always been cryptic on the subject, and up until now, she had never mentioned Harmon directly. She did claim that she suffered “multiple physical assaults” while working on “NCIS,” eventually prompting her to leave.
But the new statement leaves no doubt about her rumored confrontation with Harmon, shedding new light on the controversy.
“NO I AM NOT COMING BACK! EVER! (Please stop asking?) I am terrified of Harmon and him attacking me. I have nightmares about it. I have a new show that is SAFE AND HAPPY! You’ll love it!” Perrette tweeted.
Hours after accusing Harmon of being a hostile presence in the work environment, Perrette shared graphic images of an “NCIS” crew member with stitches and bruises around his eyelids, to further make her point in a since-deleted post.
She must have changed her mind about posting images of such nature, since she not only took them down but also apologized to her fans and said to want to move on from the gruesome subject.
“Sorry about the former truths. This is the future. (Gap year and lots of therapy!) just needed to tell the truth and move ON! Love you guys!” Perrette wrote, adding a link to the first look on her upcoming CBS comedy series “Broke.”
For the yet-to-be-released pilot, Perrette teamed up with “Jane the Virgin” actor Jaime Camil. The two stars are going to be playing siblings, and Perrette’s role is miles away from her iconic NCIS character.
Perrette’s revealing tweet about her feud with Harmon came not long after a mysterious medical emergency kept her from attending the upfronts presentation of her new TV project in New York City.
On May 16, she posted a photo of herself hooked up to an IV but still donning a wide smile on her face to let fans know that she was fine.
“Well this was my night! No worries, clean bill of health. Just a chance to wear a beautiful gown!” she wrote.
