Sara Gilbert’s Wife Linda Perry Breaks Silence on Her Exit from ‘The Talk’

Actress Linda Perry opened up about her wife Sara Gilbert’s exit from “The Talk”, saying that she is proud of her for having created her own thing. Gilbert broke the news on April 9 that she was leaving the show after nine seasons.

Speaking to US Weekly, the Grammy nominee said that Gilbert has embarked on a new journey since she left the show in April. Talking about Gilbert’s exit, she said: “She’s such a talented artist. She’s had a lot of incredible ideas that, for whatever reason, people weren’t jumping.”

She further added that she is “super happy” for her wife, who has started her “own thing.”

“She created her own way … She’s got her own thing, and so she created it, so now she’s blossoming, she’s shining. I’m super happy for her because it took her a bit to get there, and now it’s happening, and I couldn’t be more proud.”

GILBERT COULD NOT FIND TIME FOR HER KIDS AND HERSELF

In an episode of “The Talk”, Gilbert broke the news of her exit to her audience, saying that the show was affecting her personal life.

“I’ve decided that it’s time for me to leave the show at the end of this season,” she shared. “I obviously love it here, and like I said, this was extremely difficult. … If I’m being honest about it, my life was slightly out of balance. I wasn’t able to spend as much time with my three kids as I’d like, or time for myself.”

During an episode of Variety’s “My Favorite Podcast”, the “Roseanne” star revealed why she chose to leave.

“Something had to give. And I’ve been lucky enough to do the talk show for nine years. And so that felt like the right move is, ‘OK, I’ve done that. And I’ve fully explored it.’ And now it’s time to do other creative ventures.”

Gilbert and Perry met in 2011 after Gilbert broke up with her long-time girlfriend, Allison Adler. She was in a relationship with Adler for 10 years and they share two children, their daughter Sawyer and their son Levi.

After staying in a relationship for a few years, the couple tied the knot in 2014 after Perry popped the question to Gilbert.
