Jamie Foxx and Katie Holmes’ Long-Distance Relationship Is Reportedly Going ‘Swimmingly’
Despite him living in Los Angeles and her living in New York City, they have managed to maintain a happy long-distance relationship for the best part of eight years.
51-year-old actor and musician Jamie Foxx reportedly gave an update about his long-distance relationship with his girlfriend of six years 40-year-old actress Katie Holmes, as an unnamed source told Page Six.
The informer was reportedly in attendance at a recent event in Los Angeles where Foxx was also present, and the person claimed to have overheard a conversation between the star and a friend on which they mentioned his relationship with Holmes.
“[He said] things are going swimmingly,” the source said. “They’re making [long] distance work, and they are stronger than ever,” the eavesdropper added.
The event in question was the Corkcicle LA celebration of National Rosé Day at Saddlerock Ranch in Malibu.
Others celebrities from the film, TV, and music industries were also present for the occasion, such as comedian Tiffany Haddish, “The Pussycat Dolls” singer Nicole Scherzinger, musician couple Ashlee Simpson and Evan Ross, and others.
Although the relationship between Foxx and the former “Dawson’s Creek” star has been public since 2013, when it surfaced that they had managed to date in secret for two years.
The alleged exchange between Foxx and his unidentified friend at the aforementioned event is the most recent confirmation that the pair is still together and going strong, once again debunking rumors about a breakup.
Prior to this, Jamie’s daughter Corine recently shared a little about the actor’s relationship to Holmes in an interview.
"They are so great and Katie is always so chic. They were wonderful. [It was] my dad’s first Met Gala," Corine said following the couple’s red carpet debut at the famous fundraiser.
After years of going through many struggles to keep their relationship private, Holmes is now reportedly “tired of playing this hiding game” and the couple has been spotted more relaxed and casual in their still rare public appearances.
Foxx is currently doing hosting duties in the contest show “Beat Shazam,” and he recently commented on the sad news of one of the contestants of a winning team passing away just two weeks after the episode was taped.
"For those of you who watched tonight's episode, as you may have seen, Alan is no longer with us. We are thankful we met this wonderful spirit," Foxx tweeted after the episode aired, in reference to late 49-year-old Alan Smith.
"He came to our show, shared his light and we are deeply saddened. Praying for Taheem, his family and sending our condolences," the actor continued.
