Check out Serena Williams as a Bridesmaid for BFF's Caroline Wozniacki's Wedding
Serena Williams stunned in her bridesmaid outfit at the wedding of her friend, Caroline Wozniacki, but she didn't entirely steal the show.
Tennis superstars, Serena Williams, and Caroline Wozniacki may face-off while competing against each other, but off the court, they are close friends.
Wozniacki got married to her fiancée and former NBA player, David Lee, recently, and Williams was there to show her support as a bridesmaid.
The news outlet, The Blast, tweeted a photo collage of the two friends. In one, the tennis star is seen walking down the aisle wearing a thin-strapped pastel seafoam-colored dress.
Williams, who held a bouquet of flowers, with her hair parted to the side, also had a smile on her face. In the other, the newly married couple is seen walking away, smiling after the ceremony.
Wozniacki wore a custom-made Oscar de LA Renta fern and floral gown, a beautiful cathedral length tulle veil, and Jimmy Choo heels; her husband on the other hand, wore a Tom Ford tuxedo.
The Golden State Warriors whom Lee played for and won the 2015 NBA championship with, tweeted a congratulatory message to the couple alongside a picture of them with Williams; it had the caption:
"Dream wedding is an understatement."
Wozniacki and the former NBA player got married in the presence of 120 guests consisting of close friends and families at Castiglion del Bosco hotel in Tuscany, Italy.
Among the guests are tennis, NBA, and NFL players like Angelique Kerber, Pau Gasol, Harrison Barnes, and Jesse Palmer; tech innovator and husband to Williams, Alexis Ohanian, also attended.
In an interview before the wedding, Wozniacki said they chose Italy because they had a lot of fond memories from their vacations there, and as for the main venue, it already had a natural setting, and the newlyweds didn't need to do so much.
The tennis star and her 36-year-old husband met in November 2015 at dinner, a mutual friend introduced them, and two years later in Bora Bora, Lee proposed and afterwards took to Instagram to share the good news of their engagement.
During his speech at their reception, the former Golden State Warriors player said his 28-year-old wife makes him the best version of himself and promised to make her feel special every day.
Wozniacki didn't give a speech, but she shared a picture of the two of them on Instagram looking at fireworks display while standing at the edge of a cliff with the words "Best weekend of my life."
Happy married life to the couple!
