Jessica Simpson's Cool Dad Joe Gains Success as a Fashion Photographer after His Divorce
Popular actress and singer, Jessica Simpson’s dad tries his hands at Photography and excels as he becomes a well sought after fashion photographer.
Jessica Simpson is an American singer, actress, and fashion designer who signed a recording contract with Columbia Records when she was sixteen and has since gone ahead to thrive in the entertainment industry.
She is the first child born to Tina Ann Simpson, and Joseph "Joe" Simpson, who is popularly known as a movie producer and former manager of his two superstar daughters, Jessica and Ashlee. Simpson's parents got married in 1978 and divorced in 2013.
Back in 2016, Joe Simpson announced his interest and passion for photography, Simpson told "People" in 2016 saying
“I’ve always loved being behind the camera.”
According to "Format," he had his first solo gallery show on May 2016 at Bruce Lurie Gallery in Los Angeles. The show was titled "Dreams Work" and was full of metallic pop fashion photos that captured the Hollywood vibe.
In a brief phone interview "Format" had with him in 2016, Joe spoke about his fears, his dream, and also talked about the difficulty of forging an identity of his own while having two megastar daughters.
When asked what the Simpson secret for productivity was, Joe had this to say:
“I’m the dreamer. The Bible says, 'Without dreams, men perish' And I think that when you stop dreaming, you’re done.”
According to "The Vice News," Joe has been taking pictures his whole life. He reportedly got his first camera when he was 14; however, he only really treated it as a hobby and didn’t take the work seriously until his tumultuous breakup with his then wife.
After the divorce, Joe visited his therapist who told him to “do things I did before I was married,” and to Simpson that was photography.
Three years later, he has become a formidable photographer made evident by the major cover he recently shot for the fashion magazine, "C’est Prune."
For the shoot, he photographed model and actress Megan Pormer, according to "People," the shoot featured a stunning cover of her with “slicked-back, wet hair and sunglasses, along with some artistic photos of her walking through a pool wearing a cobalt evening gown.”
Simpson took to his Instagram page to post the cover of the magazine and an inside shot on his photography.
In 2017, Simpson featured on the critically acclaimed American TV series "The Vanderpump Rules" where he worked with Tom Sandoval who was very excited to work with the then budding fashion photographer.
