Fantasia Barrino lit up the BET Awards stage on Sunday with an electrifying performance of her new single “Enough,” but the rendition’s significance transcends the singer’s amazing talent to something much more emotional.

Fantasia is no stranger to bringing the house down with her impeccable vocals and the ability to fuse musical genres, and she did not disappoint at the 2019 BET Awards.

The “American Idol” Season three winner took the stage at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles and proceeded into a soul-stirring and heart-thumping performance of “Enough.”

'I will forever be a Fantasia fan. She's a true singer and performer'

The melodic soul track was accompanied by heavy guitar strings reminiscent of rock ‘n’ roll and thanks to the “Fantasia” effect, it all merged beautifully to produce a sound that had the audience swaying their hands in the air.

The crowd went wild towards the end when Fantasia’s band guitarist joined her center stage and dropped to her knees as the singer hit a high note.

Apparently, it was not only the in-house crowd that was impressed. A clip of the performance made it to YouTube, where it attracted thousands of likes and comments.

“I will forever be a Fantasia fan. She's a true singer and performer,” wrote on YouTube user.

Performing “Enough,” for Fantasia, meant much more than being on stage

“She sings to the soul from her soul,” observed another. “Sing mama sing.”

A third fan added:

“Fantasia Is an Icon. CONNECTION TO THE REAL SPIRIT OF MUSIC.”

“Enough” is Fantasia’s first single off her upcoming album “Sketchbook,” per Billboard. The project marks her first since the 2017 holiday album “Christmas After Midnight,” and reportedly features other artists like T-Pain and Brandy.

Performing “Enough,” for Fantasia, meant much more than being on stage at a prestigious Awards ceremony.

The Grammy winner told reporters before her performance that she was dedicating it to her brother, Xavier Barrino, who is recovering after being in a motorcycle accident in September 2017.

Doctors had informed Xavier that he would have to learn to walk again after the accident and Fantasia has been keeping fans up to date with his progress since then, occasionally asking for prayers.

“[Xavier] had his last surgery, and I believe this is when he'll get up and walk,” Fantasia said before hitting the stage. “So I'm dedicating my performance to him tonight. I think [it'll make me emotional] and it's going to make me sang. Not sing, but sang.”

And that she did. Go, Fantasia!
