Fantasia Barrino is gearing up for the release of her new album, “Sketchbook,” and she has been teasing fans with revealing concept pics that show she’s not playing around.
The “American Idol” alum has been working hard on her seventh studio album, “Sketchbook,” the first under her independent label, and her first project since the 2017 holiday album “Christmas After Midnight.”
Last month, Barrino released the first single of the album, “Enough,” a soulful guitar jam that left fans wanting to hear more of the 34-year-old new sound.
In the most recent pic, Fantasia looks powerful rocking a metallic bodysuit that covers her torso but puts her thighs on display, leaving little to the imagination.
She completed the look with knee-high silver boots, matching platinum blonde hair and large metallic earrings.
“Black Chrome,” she captioned the post.
Fans of the songstress were quick to fill the comment section gushing about the look and her powerful stance in the picture.
“You look absolutely amazing. GOD has blessed you and brought you a mighty long way,” wrote one user.
“The wardrobe and look teasers from this shoot are like finding a new Easter egg every time you drop these breadcrumb pics! You slow walking us into utter adulation, Tasia. Smart move.”
And a third one had nothing but praise for Barrino, writing:
“Gurl! Your glow up is so beautiful to watch. As a woman, I am smiling from the inside because I know when we are happy we express our best selves, and you have totally morphed into this dynamo right before our eyes. Keep doing you and enjoy your work life balance. It shows.”
Over the weekend, Fantasia swept the audience at the BET Awards with a showstopping performance of “Enough” where she proved, once again, why she is considered one of the most powerful vocalists of the music industry.
But before taking the stage, she talked about her new project in an interview with ET on the red carpet, where she stated how excited she is of releasing her first independent album.
“It's something I've been fighting for a long time. No disrespect against any of the labels, but artists work very, very hard, and we should be able to control our stuff. We should own our stuff," she explained.
"I always talk to the legends in the game, and they would always tell me like, 'Don't kill yourself when you look up, and you don't have any money. You don't have anything to show for it.' So that's what I'm doing. I'm taking what belongs to me.”
According to the hints she has dropped on Instagram, Fantasia will count with the collaboration of artists such as Brandy Norwood, T-Pain, Jazmine Sullivan, and Meghan Trainor.
Fans are still waiting for a release date, but Barrino says the album is coming “soon, soon.”
