David Foster’s Wife Katherine McPhee Dons a Custom Wedding Dress as She Takes His Last Name
Katharine McPhee officially took David Foster’s last name on Friday after exchanging wedding vows in an elegant custom-designed strapless gown.
Two musically inclined figures tied the knot on Friday after being in love for years before. Katharine McPhee, 35, and David Foster, 69, exchanged their “I do’s” in South Kensington, London, which the music producer later took to Twitter to share his beautiful bride in her wedding gown.
The custom made ivory Zac Posen gown consists of layers of tulle, which in front formed a plunging sweetheart neckline. The “Waitress” star has yet to share photos of her full dress on social media.
McPhee’s choice of designer is no big news; after all, she has always been a fan of his creations. During the 2018 Tony Awards, McPhee donned in a black ball gown by Posen as she walked the red carpet with him.
Foster and McPhee first met in 2006 as the 35- year-old joined the hit singing competition “American Idol,” where Foster was a mentor. The two got engaged in July 2017 as he popped the big question with a massive emerald diamond ring during their vacation in Italy.
Their marriage is Foster’s fifth and McPhee’s second, yet the two seem to be very much in love with a beautiful relationship that was over ten years in the making. The producer’s daughters, Erin and Sarah, spoke to People about their new mom, showing approval.
“She’s amazing. I really like her. She’s awesome. My dad is kind of a hopeless romantic, and Katharine’s awesome,” Erin said. “We really, really like her, and we’re known her for a really long time. And if he’s happy, we’re happy.”
Sarah also suggested her approval of McPhee during an interview with Us Weekly in 2017. She called out critics who spoke against her father’s relationship.
