See Beyoncé's Daughter Blue Ivy's Curly Red Hair for 'Spirit' Video Cameo

Blue Ivy Carter makes a surprise appearance on Beyonce’s new music video and she has raging red hair in it. Her seconds-long cameo also sees her twinning with her mother.

We didn’t know Blue Ivy was a part of Beyonce’s “Spirit” music video until it debuted last week. The 7-year-old’s marked her participation with curly red hair.

SHARING THE LIMELIGHT WITH HER MOTHER

Beyonce’s daughter, Blue Ivy Carter has been making headlines lately due to her appearances with her mother. She turned heads wearing an African-inspired costume in keeping in theme at her grandmother, Tina Knowles Lawson’s “Wearable Art Gala.” Likewise, at the Hollywood premiere of her mother’s film. “The Lion King,” she also drew attention to her twinning moment with her superstar mom wearing crystal-encrusted ensembles for the occasion.

A SURPRISE CAMEO

This week, Blue Ivy once again treated her fans to a delightful sight of her appearing in Beyonce’s video for her song, “Spirit,” an original in the new “Lion King” soundtrack.

The video which was released in time for the premiere of the film boasts of magnificent African scenery of deserts and waterfalls with Beyonce taking center stage. But the highlight for many is Blue Ivy’s surprise participation in all her curly, red-haired glory.

"It's not many films that the parents can come and feel the way I feel about “Lion King,” and feel that and pass that legacy onto their kids.”

Within the first minute of the song, the camera features the 7-year-old wearing a pink dress almost identical to her mother’s. She stares at the distance with the wind blowing her hair then later approaches her mother who smiles and takes her hand. Blue gets another close-up seconds later as she and her mother are joined by a choir of women with curly, red hair like hers.

BEYONCE ON HER PARTICIPATION IN THE FILM

Beyonce has been very vocal about how happy she is to be involved in the “The Lion King” and that’s greatly in part because of her children.

"Being a mother, my family is my biggest priority. It's not many films that the parents can come and feel the way I feel about “Lion King,” and feel that and pass that legacy onto their kids,” the singer told ABC’s Robin Roberts. That legacy has now been set in stone with Blue sharing the limelight with her in the music video and at the premiere.

"It's so much nostalgia for me, and it's the first Disney movie that brought me to tears,"

Beyonce admits she’s still overwhelmed to be included in the film confessing that “The Lion King” was the first Disney film that made her cry.

“I am still a bit in shock that I'm a part of this film, because I grew up loving the Lion King. It's so much nostalgia for me, and it's the first Disney movie that brought me to tears," she said.

As grateful as Beyonce is to be included in this Disney blockbuster, producers of the film also see her as an asset to its success. Apart from the fan base she’ll be drawing to the theaters, Beyonce is a strong representation of girl power which the film encourages.

"A LOVE LETTER TO AFRICA"

But that's not the only thing Beyonce brings to the table. She was also heavily involved in the production of the soundtrack, the album of which she executive produced. She describes it as "a love letter to Africa" with a unique genre. The album boasts of the classics, "Can You Feel The Love Tonight" and "Circle of Life" as well as original music such as "Spirit."
