Kensington Palace released pre-birthday images of Prince George ahead of him turning six. Royal fans couldn’t help but notice how much the little boy looked like his father in the new photos.
Fans quickly compared the birthday portraits to George’s father, Prince William’s, at the same age. The likeness between the father-and-son was quite striking!
In the comparisons, the pair shared the same lazy smile, blonde hair, and eyes. William’s image that was compared to his son’s photo was one where he was 7 in 1989.
On Twitter, Allison Moss commented: “That's a good-looking youngster looks a lot like his dad at the same age.” A Royal fan named Ryan Horsley Frost responded: “Cutie! He’s a real mix of both Katie and William. William’s colouring but strong Middleton Features. As I think Louis has too.”
Daniel Loughins added: “Literally like looking at William.” Someone with the handle @veronic16912774 wrote: “Happy Birthday … to Prince George! He looks just like Prince William as a kid! He looks a little like Diana too.”
Princess Diana is the late mother of William and George's grandmother. The three new birthday portraits were released on Sunday.
Kensington Palace captioned the posts: “The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to share three new photographs of Prince George to mark His Royal Highness's sixth birthday.” Besides inheriting his father’s looks, the look boy appears to be also a big fan of football, just like William, 37.
The Royal is the president of the Football Association and an Aston Villa football club fan. Little George is also a fan of the team as could be seen in two of his three images.
The little Royal was pictured wearing a white England team football top. Unlike his 6th birthday portrait, George’s previous birthday images were taken by professional photographers.
His first birthday photo was taken by John Stillwell of the Press Association. In 2015, Mario Testino photographed the official portrait for the prince’s second birthday.
