People: Miranda Lambert's Husband Brendan McLoughlin Has Taken a Leave of Absence from the NYPD
On January 26, country singer and animal activist Miranda Lambert secretly married her new husband. Now it’s been revealed that he’s taken a leave of absence at his work.
According to the New York Police Department (NYPD), Miranda Lambert‘s husband and police officer, Brendan McLoughlin, 28, has taken a leave of absence from his workplace. Speaking for the NYPD’s Office of the Deputy Commissioner Public Information, a representative said: “Police Officer Brendan McLoughlin is on an authorized leave of absence.”
His leave of absence “complies with applicable law,” according to the source. The NYPD revealed that they couldn’t discuss the particular reason for McLoughlin’s leave.
However, police officers could apply for leaves for a number of different reasons, including those that are personal in nature. McLoughlin is a Staten Island native who has been praised for his work, in the past, by the NYPD.
According to the NYPD’s social media accounts, in March last year, the officer was praised for apprehending a perpetrator who was involved in a bank robbery. Included in the post, was an image of McLoughlin.
In 2015, the NYPD Midtown South tweeted an image of McLoughlin alongside a police dog named Kybo. The tweet revealed that at the time the pair was at a dog diving event.
During the same year, the officer was pictured working in Times Square. In August 2015, the policeman won a 5K race and was photographed with his trophy.
McLoughlin’s leave of absence happens to be two months ahead of Lambert’s tour. In September, the country singer is set to begin her Roadside Bars & Pink Guitars Tour.
It is possible that the officer took some time off to be able to go with his wife on her nationwide tour. Lambert, 35, met McLoughlin in New York last November.
At the time, the singer and her band, the Pistol Annies, were performing on Good Morning America. McLoughlin was assigned to the South Midtown Precinct and he was working in Times Square, where the morning show is filmed.
In April, the musician surprised fans by revealing that she was going to have another round of the Roadside Bars & Pink Guitars tour this fall. She will be joined by Maren Morris, Elle King, Pistol Annies, Tenille Townes, Caylee Hammack, and Ashley McBryde.
