SAMUEL IS GILBERT’S SON FROM HER SECOND MARRIAGE
Samuel is Gilbert’s son from her second marriage with Bruce Boxleitner, and she has another son, Dakota Brinkman, from her first marriage to Bo Brinkman.
The actress once accused Shannen Doherty of having an affair with Bo, in the early ‘90s, while they were still married, and during an appearance on “Watch What Happens Live!” in 2014, the “Little House on the Prairie,” star said if she passes Doherty on the street, she will punch her in the face.
Since her two marriages, Gilbert has moved on, and in 2013, she married Timothy Busfield, in a private ceremony on a ranch in Santa Barbara, wearing a red gown.
"IT'S NOT AN END BUT A BEGINNING"
The actress whose sister is Sara Gilbert, the former co-host of “The Talk,” has learned to count her blessings and focus on the good in her life. After Sara left the show to focus on the ABC series, “The Conners,” Gilbert tweeted in support that it was not an end, but a beginning of great things in her sister’s life.
The two share a close relationship; they lost their father when the DWTS star was 11. In 2017, she said during an appearance on Oprah’s “Where Are They Now?” that her father’s death shook her.
The actress added that when she realized years later that her dad didn’t die from a heart attack, but suicide, she was devastated and had to grieve him all over again.
Gilbert noted that afterward, she had a lot of questions, but she’s come to accept that it was his time to go, and these days, she’s more focused on enjoying her family.
