Jussie Smollett Is All Smiles While Dining with His Siblings in NYC

Following months of absence on social media, Jussie Smollett is seen for the first time on Instagram hanging out with his siblings and looking happy.

All seems well with Jussie Smollett who appears to be living a happy life with his family months after the scandal that rocked his world.

SEEING HAPPIER TIMES

A glimpse of his peaceful existence was shared by Jussie’s sister, Jazz Smollett on her Instagram. Jazz revealed she discovered a “gem” of a place in lower Manhattan while out with Jussie, their brother, Jake Smollett, and friend, Rochelle Brown.

The two photos Jazz shared showed a smiling Jussie, relaxed in the company of his siblings he’s very close to. In fact, along with their other sister, actress Jurnee Smollett Bell, the foursome published a cookbook together.

A LOOK BACK AT HIS TURBULENT PAST

Jussie laid low from the limelight and social media after the controversy surrounding his alleged attack erupted in January.

The actor who claimed he was a victim of a racist and homophobic assault was accused of faking the incident and charged with disorderly conduct for filing a false police report.

Maintaining his innocence throughout, Jussie exhaled when the charges were dropped weeks later.

Jussie returned to social media in June to deliver a video message for Pride month. Since then, he’s only posted four more times, none of them revealing a photo of himself.

As a response, the City of Chicago filed a lawsuit against Jussie claiming for the thousands spent in investigating the alleged hoax attack.

In early July, Jussie filed a motion to take the case to the federal level. It’s currently being handled by the Cook County Circuit whose judge recently appointed a new prosecutor to reexamine Jussie’s dismissed case.

HIS RETURN TO SOCIAL MEDIA

Jussie returned to social media in June to deliver a video message for Pride month. Since then, he’s only posted four more times, none of them revealing a photo of himself.

The “Empire” star shared one of him as a toddler in time for his birthday and revealed his current disposition in his caption.

“Grateful for LOVE. Grateful for y’all. Grateful for another year around the sun. #SummerSolstice#StillSmiling”

There’s still a lot Jussie has to face with his trial still in motion but it’s good to see he’s in better spirits after the turbulent start to his year.
