Granger Smith's Wife Amber Laughs with Her Little Son & Daughter in New Summer Photos
Despite the storm that hit Granger Smith and his wife, Amber, she laughed heartily with their children in the new photos shared on social media.
Amber Emily Smith, wife of country music artist, Granger Smith, shared new summer photos of their son, Lincoln, and daughter, London, on Instagram.
In the first photo, the siblings looked wet, with their hair clinging to their face. In the second, Amber stood in between the two, as they laughed heartily, and had the look of pure joy on their faces.
In the caption, the singer's wife wrote that after the "Season" they've had, it's easy to believe that her family might never laugh again. She thanked the Lord that it's not the case, and added that her children are dancing through the storm.
Amber wrote that they make each other laugh, and after a series of clasped hands, crucifix, and rain cloud emojis, she added:
"Riv would have been the first one out here, jumping in puddles."
The caption ended with the hashtags, "#LivelikeRiv," and "#Youcandoit."
Riv is a short form of saying "River;" he was Amber and Granger's last child until he died from accidental drowning after falling into their home pool in Texas.
It happened in early June, and since then, the couple has tried to laugh through their pain and be there for their remaining children.
The mum-of-two has shared different posts on social media to keep her late son's memory alive. In late June, she posted about how much Riv would have loved going to the Field Museum she visited with London and Lincoln, to see a T-rex.
Amber wrote that living without her last child has been difficult, and at the time of his death, she said the hole the loss left in her heart cannot get filled. The Texas resident added that she sees the deceased everywhere, and the pain left her broken.
Despite the pain, the bereaved mother and Granger were able to rise above it and do something good with what they had left of their son.
After the doctors at Dell Children's Medical Center told the couple that Riv had no brain activity, they decided to donate his organs.
The organ donation helped preserve two lives, and in a show of gratitude to the hospital for trying to save their son, the country music star gave $218, 000 to the medical center.
The terrible loss has taught Amber to appreciate the things that are important in life, and to her, that's her family and faith in God.
