Why Tamron Hall Hid Living with Husband before Marriage from Her 'Old-School' Mom
Tamron Hall reveals having to lie to her mother about her living arrangements with her husband before their marriage. "I kept saying he was 'visiting'," she said.
There’s a lot we still don’t know about Tamron Hall’s private life which, more often than not, she chooses to keep private.
We only found out she was pregnant when she was weeks away from giving birth. And we also weren’t privy to the fact that she was already married at the time.
But while it’s perfectly understandable that we wouldn’t be in the know when it comes to the former “Today” host’s personal life, we were surprised to learn that she also kept her parents in the dark about certain things.
For instance, she recently revealed her parents were unaware of her living arrangements with her husband, Steven Greener before they got hitched.
“When my mom first visited us, I moved all of his clothing out and he had to stay at a friend’s house a few blocks up.”
TAMRON AND STEVEN'S LOVE STORY
Tamron opened up to Ryan Seacrest while guest co-hosting on “LIVE with Kelly and Ryan” about having to hide a few details about her life from her mother.
The 48-year-old first recalled how she met Steven and how their relationship evolved from being annoyed to being swept away.
Tamron remembered meeting the music manager years before they started dating in 2017. She said she first found him annoying since he would show up everywhere, not realizing it was his way of expressing interest.
“We knew each other for about four years and he would run into me and he kept saying, ‘What are the odds?'” she recounted to Ryan. “I’m like, ‘Cause you’re stalking me, the odds are high.'”
It was during one of those deliberate encounters that the new mom finally sat down with Steven and got to know him better.
During their conversation at a pool in LA, he asked her to join him for pizza and even jokingly asked her to get married. It was only a matter of time before Tamron was swept away.
“We moved in together two weeks later,” she concluded.
In March, Tamron revealed she and Steven had tied the knot and that they were expecting a child together. Their son, Moses was born the following month.
ON LYING TO HER MOTHER
Tamron kept that decision to move in a secret from her mother. “My mother is a Southern old-school,” she reasoned. As such, whenever her mother would drop in on her, "I kept saying he was 'visiting'," she said.
At this point, Tamron recalled a funny story.
“When my mom first visited us, I moved all of his clothing out and he had to stay at a friend’s house a few blocks up,” she began. “Then he lost the key to the house. It’s a crazy story. But yeah, basically we hid it. It was like a comedy special and my mother said later, she always knew. She said, ‘I always knew he lived there.'”
SECRETS OUT
In March, Tamron revealed she and Steven had tied the knot and that they were expecting a child together. Their son, Moses was born the following month. He is the first child for both Tamron and Steven after thinking they’d never be parents.
MEANT FOR EACH OTHER
In May, the couple expressed their appreciation for each other in a cover story for People. “This was my deepest, greatest love,” Tamron said of Steven who likewise revealed, “I’m constantly amazed by how lucky I am.”
At least now we know more about how that love developed with Tamron’s recent revelations.
