Watch Ray J's Funny 'Daddy Do-Over' on Daughter Melody's Hair

Ray J has fans in stitches with a recent video of him attempting to make his daughter Melody Love’s hair. Despite offering his tips, viewers in the comment section called out Ray J on his lack of hair skills. See it all unfold in the video below.

Ray has proved on many occasions to be a doting dad to him and wife Princess Love’s one-year-old daughter, but the singer/reality star can’t do it all.

In a recent video published by VH1, Ray, 38, sat with Melody to offer viewers a glimpse into his life as a dad and the adorable tot’s hair was up for discussion.

“Do I know how to braid?” Ray asked in mock anger. “What kind of question is that? My sister [singer Brandy] been wearing braids since the 90s. Of course, I know how to braid.”

The celebrity dad then went on to spritz his daughter’s hair with some water and got hold of some moisturizer.

He explained:

“I’m going to give her the hand wave. Princess likes to do ponytails but for me, as a dad, I like to simplify it and give her the hand wave. First, I start with the lotion, and I kind of give it a rub. That’s how I do it. I moisturize the hair. I get it good.”

After applying the product to Melody’s hair, Ray gets a comb and attempts to part her hair.

“What I’m trying to do is [to] angle the first three bang hairs and make it curl,” he claimed. “If I do that, then it gives her an approach where her hair is not tight, it’s not making her brain tight, and it gives her a swag that makes her feel like she’s happy.”

HILARIOUS REACTIONS

Despite his elaborate tutorial, Ray ended up leaving Melody’s hair undone, and fans couldn’t help teasing his abilities in the comment section.

“Ray J is making up this stuff as he goes,” one YouTube user observed while adding several laughing emojis.

“She [Melody] patted him on his head like ‘It's ok daddy. Mommy gon' correct this mess you did,’ joked another.

A third user said: “She's 2 Cute so anything u do to her hair will look perfect on her, but we all know Ray can't do hair.”

Ray and his “Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood” co-star wife welcomed their daughter in May of 2018 and celebrated her first birthday three months ago with the sweetest words.

A MOTHER'S LOVE

Alongside an adorable video of the birthday girl playing with toys at a photoshoot, Ray gushed over his daughter who he called the “most special blessing.” Princess also shared a photo from the shoot and described Melody as “sweet, smart, beautiful, [&] amazing.”

“You have grown so much in just 1 year, but I’ve made sure to cherish every single moment,” she continued. “Kissing your little hands and feet every single day, so that as you grow I can’t say it just flew by. You will always be my baby no matter how old you are. So happy and blessed to be your Mommy.”

BABY NO. 2 IN THE WORKS?

Meanwhile, Princess and her husband, who tied the knot in 2016, are already working towards a sibling for Melody.

“I want one more right now,” Ray told US Weekly in March. “I’m trying right now. I’m trying to get one in, and hopefully, we can have another by April if it happens.”

“Two [kids] is good. She [Princess] might want three or four, but two is good,” he added. “Knock two punch, bada bing, bada boom. We in and we out. …Hopefully, if we get a boy, we’ve got the perfect family!”

If they do get a boy, maybe Ray will have better luck with his hair. Fans of the couple will have to wait and see.
