Larry King Is Divorcing His 7th Wife Shawn after 22 Years Together

Larry King is a living legend when it comes to television, but the host is not going through a very pleasing moment of his life as he just filed for divorce.

King has filed the papers to divorce from his seventh wife, Shawn Southwick King, after almost 22 years of marriage, citing "irreconcilable differences."

Being such a big celebrity, some people didn't show any mercy for the 85-year-old and took to social media to make fun of the situation, especially on Twitter.

KING'S DIVORCE STREAK WAS USED FOR COMEDY

Charlotte Clymer, a writer, used the platform to ask God to be as prolific in publishing books as King is at getting a divorce, a clear stab at the host's past relationships.

Some Twitter users went as far as using photoshopped pictures of King to create memes. One of those memes said: "Find someone who looks at you like divorce lawyers look at Larry King."

Scott Williams, another user, posted an animated image of Rob Schneider in the movie "The Waterboy" to say that King is only one divorce away from tying the score with Elizabeth Taylor, who went through eight divorces.

ANYTHING BUT SMOOTH SAILING

But despite being together for over two decades, King and Southwick's marriage wasn't an easy one, mainly due to rumors of infidelity by the 59-year-old blonde.

According to People Magazine, the TV legend was distraught about an alleged affair that his wife had. However, he later denied any reports of cheating during a 2016 interview with "Home & Family:"

"You said an interesting word, ‘rumor.’ I’ve been in the business — next May, it’ll be 60 years — and I’ve dealt with rumors a long time. Interviewed people involved with rumors. Rumors are what they are — they’re rumors. And I tell you the truth, I don’t pay any attention to them."

This is the second time that King has filed for divorce — the first time was in 2010. The couple shares two children, 19-year-old Cannon Edward King and 20-year-old Chance Armstrong King.
