Liam Hemsworth Filed for Divorce 7 Months after He and Miley Cyrus Got Married
Last December 23, actor Liam Hemsworth married his long-term partner Miley Cyrus. However, seven months after the marriage, he allegedly filed for divorce.
On August 10, actress and singer Miley Cyrus, 26, and her husband Liam Hemsworth, 29, announced that they had separated. The pair had been married for 7 months.
Now sources have revealed that Hemsworth is "over the marriage" and just wants to move on. He filed for divorce from Cyrus this week.

Hemsworth filed legal documents for divorce through famed Hollywood divorce attorney Laura Wasser in Los Angeles and cited "irreconcilable differences" as the main reason. Insiders revealed that the couple had signed a prenuptial agreement ahead of their marriage.
That means their earnings were kept separate and the two won’t have to fight over money during their divorce. The fact that the former couple also had no children makes the divorce easier.
The day before Cyrus announced her separation from her husband, she was seen on holiday at Lake Como, Italy with a friend. The singer and Kaitlynn Carter, 30, (Brody Jenner's ex-wife) were seen kissing and cuddling by the pool area.
Cyrus and Hemsworth also cited infidelity as one for the many reasons for the divorce. However, it appeared the couple had already separated months before.
Sources claim that Cyrus’ vow this week to make her marriage work has fallen on deaf ears. Hemsworth is apparently not budging on his decision and people who know him said he would be "insane" to carry on with the marriage.
It seems the pair had been drifting apart for a while. In June, the actor was seen grocery shopping without his wedding ring on his finger.
Their separation seemed quite amicable on the onset but it appears as though things are getting nasty between the couple. There have been claims of drug use in the relationship.
Last week, Cyrus released a song titled "Slide Away," which was said to be her version of the separation. In the song, she allegedly blames her husband’s fondness for whiskey and pills for things going wrong.
However, Hemsworth strongly denies these allegations. The couple was on and off for nearly a decade since 2009 and this was the first marriage for both of them.
To announce their separation a representative for Cyrus released this statement: “Liam and Miley have agreed to separate at this time.” The representative added: “Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and careers.”
Rumors of their separation began after the singer posted a photo of herself on Instagram where she was seen without her wedding ring. The former couple got married in Nashville, Tennessee with close friends and family present.
