Richard Pryor Wanted Paul Mooney Killed for Allegedly Sleeping with His Son, Ex-Bodyguard Claims

The tweets haven’t stopped since Richard Pryor’s ex-bodyguard made claims regarding the comedian’s son’s alleged relationship with Paul Mooney and his intentions to have Mooney silenced after learning about it.

Rashon Khan, Richard Pryor’s former bodyguard and trainer recently made shocking revelations about the late comedian while promoting his memoir, “Everything Wasn’t Funny.”

In his interview with Comedy Hype, Khan insinuated that Paul Mooney, who was Pryor’s writer and best friend, slept with the latter’s son, Richard Pryor Jr. at a young age, prompting the older Pryor to try to put a hit on Mooney’s head. Khan added that Pryor was in such a rage that he asked Khan to offer $1 million to whoever takes Mooney’s life.

Jennifer Lee, Pryor’s fifth wife seemed to confirm Khan’s story when she tweeted in response to the interview.

There was a time where Paul Mooney was Richard’s friend,” Khan recounted. “So when Paul did what he did it was a violation of friendship first, then ‘my son’. And in some circles that would be dealt with.”

Pryor died in 2005 yet his name keeps being dragged into controversies till late. There were stories about his dalliances with men including Marlon Brando, who, according to Quincy Jones had a fling with the comedian.

THE PUBLIC REACTS TO THE INTERVIEW

Khan’s story took the internet by storm, sending many to tweet their disbelief and shock over his allegations. Some were surprised and hesitant to believe Mooney was gay or a pedophile while others simply shrugged off Khan’s claims as propaganda to promote his book.

There were also tweets that suggested Pryor Jr.’s relationship with Mooney was consensual and that he was 24 or 25 at the time. It is a known fact that Pryor Jr. came out to his parents in 1981 when he was 23.

Meanwhile, Jennifer Lee, Pryor’s fifth wife seemed to confirm Khan’s story when she tweeted in response to the interview.

“TRUE-RP jr. confirmed this at the luncheon I gave after Richard's funeral service--he announced it to the entire restaurant full of guests! I have it on tape.”

She added, “It happened during the JOJO Dancer shoot, RP sent Mooney home when he found out---.” For those who refused to believe her, she suggested asking Pryor Jr. directly. She also encouraged her stepson to “add the granular details” so people would be enlightened by the truth.
