“It is with deep and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, family member and friend LaShawn Daniels, who was the victim of a fatal car accident in South Carolina,” she wrote.
“A Grammy Award-winning producer and songwriter, Daniels was a man of extraordinary faith and a pillar in our family. We would like to express our sincere appreciation for the continuous outpouring of love and sympathy.”
According to the latest update from CBS42, a van driven by Daniels collided with a truck driven by 32-year-old Jackie Dean Moss on SC 5 East of Rock Hill. Daniels’ van reportedly caught fire after the impact which was caused by a third vehicle, a pick-up truck driving West and traveling left of center. Both Daniels and Moss died on the scene.
Daniels was especially proud of his collaboration with the late Michael Jackson. In fact, just last month, he expressed his pride working for the King of Pop in his final album, "Invincible."

The singer continued with more heartbreak.
“You were truly the best of the best. It’s been so hard these past few days...there was so much left to say, laugh and cry about. My heart aches. Goodbye friend.”
