Tamar Braxton Pens Emotional Tribute to Friend Lashawn Daniels Who Died in Tragic Car Accident
Tamar Braxton bids goodbye to her son’s “half God father,” LaShawn Daniels in a touching tribute following the songwriter’s tragic death. Daniels was in a car accident that took his life.
Tamar Braxton is mourning the loss of LaShawn Daniels who was untimely killed in a car accident recently.

HIS WIFE'S MESSAGE
The 41-year-old songwriter’s wife, April broke the sad news in a brief statement.
“It is with deep and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, family member and friend LaShawn Daniels, who was the victim of a fatal car accident in South Carolina,” she wrote.
“A Grammy Award-winning producer and songwriter, Daniels was a man of extraordinary faith and a pillar in our family. We would like to express our sincere appreciation for the continuous outpouring of love and sympathy.”
DETAILS OF THE ACCIDENT
According to the latest update from CBS42, a van driven by Daniels collided with a truck driven by 32-year-old Jackie Dean Moss on SC 5 East of Rock Hill. Daniels’ van reportedly caught fire after the impact which was caused by a third vehicle, a pick-up truck driving West and traveling left of center. Both Daniels and Moss died on the scene.
Daniels was especially proud of his collaboration with the late Michael Jackson. In fact, just last month, he expressed his pride working for the King of Pop in his final album, "Invincible."
HIS LEGACY
Daniels is best known for his collaborations with Darkchild and famously won a Grammy for his work on Destiny’s Child’s “Say My Name” back in 2000. He is also credited for Brandy and Monica’s hit “The Boy is Mine”, Lady Gaga and Beyonce’s “Telephone,” Jennifer Lopez’s “If You Had My Love,” and Whitney Houston’s “It’s Not Right But It’s Okay,” to name a few.

Daniels is survived by his three sons with his wife of 20 years.
BRAXTON'S TRIBUTE
Meanwhile, for Braxton, Daniels wrote “Love and War” for which he won another Grammy.
Braxton took to her Instagram this week to express her sadness revealing in the process how close they were. Daniels was a regular presence in the singer’s reality series, “Braxton Family Values” and “Tamar & Vince.”
“Lashawn, I thank you. I love you. I miss you. I promise to tell Beans how funny and talented his half God father was,” she wrote. Beans is Tamar’s six-year-old son, Logan with her estranged husband, Vincent Herbert.
The singer continued with more heartbreak.
“You were truly the best of the best. It’s been so hard these past few days...there was so much left to say, laugh and cry about. My heart aches. Goodbye friend.”
Daniels is survived by his three sons with his wife of 20 years. This is certainly a sad time for his family who will miss him dearly.
