The 28-year-old Academy Award winner confirmed her engagement last February, and it seems like she didn’t want to wait too long before making it legal with art dealer Cooke Maroney.

According to Page Six, the pair was seen on Monday at New York's marriage bureau accompanied by some friends, security guards, and celebrity photographer Mark Seliger.

In pictures obtained by the site, J-Law can be seen holding some documents, and an onlooker who was inside the building wrote in a now-deleted tweet:

“When you go get your marriage license, and Jennifer Lawrence walks by to tie the knot before your eyes. Yeah, kids, City Hall is COOL. The place to go!”

Everything seems to indicate Lawrence and Maroney picked up their marriage license. To celebrate, here’s a timeline of their relationship so far.

THE BEGINNING

Jennifer and Cooke were quietly dating for weeks in late May before the media caught word of the budding romance in June 2018.

According to Page Six, they were introduced by Jennifer’s friend Laura Simpson and were being careful not to be seen together to avoid rumors.

Still, onlookers caught the couple out and about in New York City packing on some PDA.

Maroney is widely known in the art circuit and works as the art director at Gladstone Gallery, which represents artists like Lena Dunham‘s dad, Carroll Dunham, and Richard Prince, Anish Kapoor, Ugo Rondinone and Bjork’s ex, Matthew Barney.

Five months earlier, Lawrence split from director Darren Aronofsky after dating for a year.

THE PAPARAZZI HUNT

Once the word got out about Lawrence and Maroney, photographers started to chase the couple, and they were caught strolling in the city on several occasions.

Thorough June, the pair were photographed walking together after having some drinks; saying goodbye with a kiss after Lawrence hailed a taxi in another outing; enjoying a candlelit dinner, and grabbing a quick bite at Fanelli Café before meeting with some friends in another café.

Then, in August, Jennifer and Cooke took their love to international territory with a trip to Paris, France. Once again, they were photographed walking hand in hand in the streets of the city of love.

A week later, and two days after Lawrence’s birthday, the pair were seen enjoying the historic city of Rome, Italy.

And by late September, they did their first red carpet as a couple at the New York Film Festival premiere of “The Favourite.”

ON THE LOW BEFORE THE BIG NEWS

The following months, the couple kept mostly for themselves.

They were caught once in a while having a stroll or out for dinner, and in November, they attended a New York Rangers game at Madison Square Garden.

Then, in February 2019, the lovebirds were photographed having dinner at Raoul’s, an upscale French restaurant.

During that outing, an onlooker reported to Page Six that Jennifer was rocking a “massive ring” and they seemed to be celebrating.

Soon after, a rep for Lawrence confirmed the news of the engagement to the media.

TALKING ABOUT HER FIANCÉ

Last June, Lawrence opened about her relationship for the first time on the “Naked with Catt Sadler” podcast.

The “Hunger Games” star couldn’t stop gushing about her fiancé, telling Sadler of Cooke that “he’s the greatest human being I’ve ever met, and he gets better.”

When asked why she decided to marry Cooke, Lawrence explained:

“I don’t know; I started with the basics. ‘How do I feel? Is he nice? Is he kind?’ It’s just — this is the one, I know that sounds really stupid, but he’s just, he’s — you know. He’s the greatest person I’ve ever met, so I feel very honored to become a Maroney.”

And continued:

“He’s my best friend. I want to legally bind him to me forever. And fortunately, the paperwork exists for such a thing. You find your favorite person on the planet, and you’re like, ‘You can’t leave!’”

WEDDING PLANNING

On the same interview, Jennifer admitted she already had wedding plans on the way.

She already picked a dress and a venue, and said she was in a good place because “I’m like too lazy to be neurotic.”

However, Lawrence admitted she did have a breakdown over her bachelorette party.

“I thought I didn’t want to have a bachelorette party, and then last minute I decided I did,” Jennifer said. “Then nobody was available because it was last minute. And then I started crying. I was like, ‘I don’t even know why I’m crying. I didn’t know that I wanted a bachelorette party.”

Although it is not clear if Lawrence had her bachelorette party before picking her marriage certificate, she did had an engagement party last May.

For now, congratulations to the happy couple!
