Held on September 22, at the Microsoft Theater in Downtown Los Angeles, the 2019 Emmys Awards provided a lot of comic relief for members of the black Twitter community, as Bossip reports.

The Fox awards ceremony got off to a rocky start when Homer Simpson, Anthony Anderson, and Bryan Cranston, took to the stage for a monologue. While these three had some fun moments and banter with each other, fans weren't exactly impressed.

One person took to Twitter to share a photo of Anthony staring at the awards backstage

From there on, the ceremony proceeded with many highlights making the night unforgettable. One of such moments occurred when mogul sisters Kim Kardashian and Kendall Jenner stepped on stage to present the “outstanding competition series” awards.

While there was an awkwardness that settled over the audience, what made the night extra special for most was the laugh that erupted during the Kardashian-Jenner sisters opening speech.

It not only made the night for those at the event but also for members of the Twitterverse. Taking to Twitter, one person shared a laughing gif with the

:

Kim Kardashian: "Our family knows first-hand how truly compellingtelevision comes from real people just being themselves."

Kendall Jenner:

"Telling our stories, unfiltered and unscripted."

Another person, who was more concerned with Kendall’s look, chimed in:

“Kendall Jenner’s ensemble looks like when you get the sex toys almost hidden in the sofa because your mom dropped by unannounced. #Emmys”

Other Twitter users were just excited about how fun the night was about to become. One person even shared a gif of actress Tichina Arnold saying “I’m sensing a horrible dress,’ with the caption:

Winners like Patricia Arquette, Michelle Williams, and Peter Dinklage emerged from different categories, but the people’s favorite was Billy Porter. The "Pose" star became the first openly gay person of color to win an Emmy award for Lead Actor in a Drama Series.

In celebration of the win, a fan shared a meme via Twitter with the

Despite the many dramatic and hilarious moments, a few unimpressed people shared that Rihanna was making popcorn on Instagram Live.

The night also provided the revelation that Angela Bassett is married to Courtney B. Vance but since black people already knew that, it didn't matter as much.

Besides all the fun and not-so-great-moments from the night, Chrissy Teigen once again blessed the internet with an awards night meme, as Mashable shared via their website. The meme occurred when Colin Jost and Michael Che were on stage.

The TV personality shrunk away and cringed into her seat when the camera swooped to her and her husband, John Legend.

The night certainly had it all as Esquire adds that the 2019 Emmys was a beautiful mix of television memorials, unbelievable speeches, and surprise wins.
