It was a good day for Preston C. Howell from Miami, Florida, who took a bold step to perform a jazz song in a competition where a lot of people show off their powerful voices.

The teenager got the attention of the judges Kelly Clarkson, Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani, and John Legend with his powerful rendition of the1931 jazz song "Dream A Little Dream of Me," as reported by PopSugar.

As seen in a clip of the performance uploaded on YouTube, Preston got three turns from the judges barely thirty seconds into the song.

As he sang, Gwen said, "Wow! So cute, while Kelly expressed her undying love for him.

Coach John Legend made the final turn, making it a 4-chair turn. After the performance, Preston got a standing ovation from the judges, and that was when he shocked the judges with his age. He is only 14 years old!

Gwen was surprised by his age as she said:

"My son is thirteen, and his voice is cracking all over the place."

When she asked him why he chose the song, the teen explained that Jazz connects to him and that he loves what Michael Buble does.

Each coach wanted to win the teenager to their team, and they all had terrific comments.

The "All of Me" singer praised him, saying:

"The idea of you coming out to do this song that most people of your age wouldn't have the cojones to do is such an audacious undertaking."

Gwen tried to prove that he could be on her team as she came out to sing "Sister" and told him she could mother him.

Kelly, on the other hand, appreciated the fact that he infused originality into the music while Blake Shelton described his voice as "timeless."

It was so much pressure for a 14-year-old, but he ended up on John's team where he belongs.

As revealed by Entertainment Weekly, Coach Gwen has the most slots filled after two weeks of blind auditions.

The "Hollaback Girl" crooner has five artists, and right behind her is Kelly with four artists. The guys of the team each have three artists on their teams. Clarkson is the only coach left with a block in her arsenal.

Things are already getting pretty heated up this season!
