Lamar Odom Says He Started Falling in Love with Khloé Kardashian While Dating Taraji P Henson

Lamar Odom has revealed that his relationship with Taraji P. Henson hit the rocks after he started falling in love with Khloe Kardashian while dating the actress.

In TV One’s latest series of "Uncensored" interviews, Odom, 39, shed more light on his past relationships, including his time with the "Empire" leading lady.

Although it wasn’t until recently that Odom opened up about briefly dating Henson, he’s not hiding the fact that they shared a strong connection and that she’ll always mean a lot to him.

The retired NBA player recalled meeting Henson at an HBO party and hitting it off right away. "I just wish I would've done things different with her," he admitted in a preview of the TV One series.

Odom continued:

"She was a little older than me, but I learned a lot from her because that was the most significant relationship as a grownup that I had with a Black woman. I used to carry her picture on the road with me. Don’t nobody know that, except the dudes that played with me."

Odom explained that Henson was a source of inspiration and recalled once performing at his best during a Lakers and Cleveland Cavaliers game because he couldn’t wait to get back to her.

In August, he went public with his new woman, a health and life coach named Sabrina Parr

"She gave me inspiration," he confessed. "A black woman working like that, that is just as good at her craft as I'm good at my craft."

The former Lakers Forward admitted, however, that his relationship with Henson unraveled after he started falling in love with Kardashian while they were dating:

"Things ended with Taraji [P. Henson] because of me being an immature punk. I didn’t know how to tell her that I was falling in love with another woman named Khloe Kardashian."

The first time fans got to know that Odom once dated Henson was earlier this year when he released his memoir "Darkness to Light."

In the book, Odom described the Oscar nominee as a "wise woman" and said his time with her was "one of the happiest times of my life." The former "Dancing With The Stars" contestant also admitted that his infidelity led to their breakup. Henson has since moved on and is now set to marry her fiancé, retired NFL player Kelvin Hayden, in April 2020.

In 2009, the same year Odom dated and split with Henson, he married Kardashian 30 days after they met. By 2016, however, the marriage ended in divorce amid reports of the ex basketballer’s infidelity and substance abuse.

Kardashian moved onto a relationship with another NBA player, Tristan Thompson, with whom she now shares a one-year-old daughter True. Kardashian and Thompson’s relationship hit the rocks earlier this year amid cheating allegations on the athlete’s part.

Odom also seems to have found love again. In August, he went public with his new woman, a health and life coach named Sabrina Parr. Odom, who has two kids – Destiny, 21, and Lamar Jr., 17 – from a previous relationship, has also reportedly hinted at having more kids with Parr.
