Erica Campbell's Husband Warryn Opens up about His Infidelity and Overcoming It
"It ain’t on her. It was my decision," claimed Warryn Campbell as he recounted his version of events that led to his infidelity that almost ended his marriage to Erica Campbell.
When Erica Campbell opened up about the period of infidelity in her marriage to Warryn Campbell on “Tamron Hall,” she seemed to suggest that she was partly to blame. But Warryn had a different version to tell.

ERICA'S SIDE OF THE STORY
Three years into the couple's 18-year-marriage, Warryn confessed that he messed up.
“He told me he had been unfaithful and that it had been years back,” she told Tamron.
Though Erica considered leaving Warryn at the time, her commitment to God and their marriage prevailed. She also admitted that though her husband made a mistake, her work may have caused his infidelity too.
“It was a combination,” she said. “Yes he was irresponsible and selfish and I was consumed with my career. He literally asked me, ‘I need you to be home. I need some more time with you.’ And my ego said, ‘Excuse me, I’m on the road traveling. I’ve got Grammys. I’m selling records.”
WARRYN'S VERSION
After that interview, Madamenoire caught up with Warryn to get his side of the story while he was promoting his latest project for his record label, “My Block.”
In Warryn’s version, he was greatly to blame for his infidelity. He attributed it to his immaturity, having married Erica when he was only 23, and his selfishness.
"...my arrogance said, ‘No, I want you to come home.’ And since you ain’t coming home, I’ma go do this.”
Warryn recalled knowing from the first time he met Erica that she was destined to be his wife. In fact, it was for this reason that he jumped into marriage too soon for fear of losing her.

“She functioned and moved like a wife and I knew that. I was like ‘Ima lose her. She’s not a permanent girlfriend. So I said, ‘Ima marry her even though I know I’m not ready,” he confessed.
On what led to him stepping out of his marriage, he explained,
“What happened was, my wife was on the road so much, after a while I just felt like I was missing her. So, I said, ‘I need you to come home.’"
“This is crazy when I even think about it. He [his pastor] made me, my wife, and one of the women at the time, we all sat, in a room together, with him and we all talked."
He continued,
“Now, in my line of work, I’m the boss. I could have got on the plane and went wherever she was. She had contracts for two years. So she had to be at these places. She’s already taken money. She can’t just come home. But my arrogance said, ‘No, I want you to come home.’ And since you ain’t coming home, I’ma go do this.”
For Warryn, the bottom line was this:
“It’s my responsibility. It ain’t on her. It was my decision. I did it. I was the selfish person. You can say she’s taking the blame. She’s not. She’s just acknowledging some of the root of it.”
THE ROAD TO FORGIVENESS
The couple both admitted during their separate interviews that they went through therapy and counseling to pull through. Warryn also disclosed that one of the women who came between them joined him and Erica in a sit-down with his pastor.
“This is crazy when I even think about it. He [his pastor] made me, my wife, and one of the women at the time, we all sat, in a room together, with him and we all talked. Hardest thing I ever did.”
Warren adds,
“Because these two women that I been with, one woman is my wife. We have a daughter. My daughter, she’s 15 now, but at the time, she was maybe 8 months. And this other woman who had gotten pregnant [but didn’t have the baby] he sat us all down in the room and I just had to take it. I had to first apologize to everybody. I could have handled this in a completely different matter.”
It’s a good thing Warryn and Erica’s love for each other withstood this trial in their marriage, thanks to the strength of their Christian faith.
Last year, the gospel singers released the song, “All of My Life” as a tribute to their love and the strength it derives from God.
“I wrote the record to show how much God is the center of my life and this relationship I have with him, this love I have for him is for all of my life. The fact that it is also the way I feel about my wife is a double blessing,” confessed Warryn.
