During a video Joanna posted to social media on Thursday, she gave a sneak peek into her personal kitchen as she prepared mini chocolate cakes and mashed potatoes while sharing what to expect for her latest release.

"So my hope with this cookbook is that it really encourages and inspires people to experiment in their kitchen, and to get after it," Joanna said.

"I’ve failed multiple times, but in those failings, I’ve learned so much, and it just kept me coming back," Joanna continued. "I never wanted to quit."

But Joanna also adds that her attitude towards cooking evolved into more of a "gift than a chore," and at the end of the day, its all about having family and friends gathered around the table.

Joanna and Chip said their farewell's to their series "Fixer Upper" in 2018 to focus on raising their five children and other projects.

As the owners of a shopping complex, Magnolia Market, in Waco, Texas, and the quarterly lifestyle magazine, Magnolia Journal, Chip and Joanna maintain a busy lifestyle along with their individual projects.

However, the couple is squarely set on raising "kind" children. During a recent interview with PEOPLE, Joanna shared how, at age eleven, she walked into the cafeteria as the new girl in school.

She didn't know anyone, and she didn't know where to sit. But then a girl came up to Joanna and invited to sit with her, and the kindness she felt is what she now teaches her kids.

“Every day, we try to teach our own kids to be kind to themselves, to each other, to neighbors and especially to those who look like they are alone,” Joanna added.

Along with their friend Ben Weprin and his team, AJ Capital, Chip, and Joanna intend on opening a hotel in Downtown Waco, Texas, by 2021.
