Lisa Whelchel Gets Engaged at the Age of 56, Sharing Sweet Photos of the Proposal

Actress Lisa Whelchel famously played Blair Warner on the 80s sitcom "The Facts of Life." Her life especially when it came to love has been a rollercoaster but she seems to have finally found her Prince Charming.

Lisa had been married to Steven Cauble from July 9, 1988, until they famously got divorced 24-year later in 2012. Cauble was an associate pastor at The Church on the Way in Van Nuys, California.

They had three children together before they divorced. Whelchel eventually moved on and fell into the arms of Dr. Pete Harris.

The couple keeps fans updated on their growing relationship through social media site Instagram. Thus when they decided to take the next step it comes as no surprise that Lisa took to the networking site to share the moment writing:

"I said, “Yes!!!!” to spending the rest of my life loving this man. To marriage as a spiritual path with this true companion."

She shared a series of sweet pictures from the moment Pete got down on one knee to after she said yes. She also added that her saying yes was also her agreeing to a variety of things including:

"To belly laughing over sophomoric humor and word nerd puns. To never-enough couch cuddles and kisses on curbs. To creating memories while on a bi-coastal family adventure. To soul growth within the crucible of intimacy. And, fun – lots and lots of fun!"

The gorgeous star concluded her Instagram post by sweetly adding "I love you, @lovemattersmostyall and I am grateful beyond words for the Grace that led me to you." Fans were naturally extremely excited to hear the good news.

More than nine thousand five hundred people liked the beautiful collection of pictures. Multiple fans also took to the comments section.

Fan reactions included many congratulations for the couple as well as supportive comments. One excited fan wrote:
