People: Justin Hartley from 'This Is Us' and Chrishell Stause File for Divorce after Two Years of Marriage
Barely two years into their marriage, the "This Is Us" star Justin Hartley unexpectedly split from Chrishell Stause Hartley after they reportedly separated in July.
Confirmed by PEOPLE, the 42-year-old actor filed for divorce from Chrishell on Friday and cited irreconcilable differences as the reason.

THEIR PUBLIC APPEARANCES DESPITE BEING SEPARATED
Despite listing that they separated on July 8, Justin and Chrishell most recently showed up as a couple at the pre-Golden Globes party on November 14 after attending the Emmys and the Veuve Clicquot Polo Match early in October together.
Although reps for Chrishell and Justin are yet to make an official comment, a source that spoke to PEOPLE said that the couple's marriage had been in "trouble for a while."

IT'S NOT OUT OF THE BLUE
According to the source, they have fundamentally different views on starting a family. While Chrishell is ready to be a wife and a stay-at-home mother, she hoped to start a family in the nearby future, but Justin doesn't feel the same.
"Justin wants that but also doesn’t think it has to happen in the near future and is at a point in his career where he wants to really be able to explore all the options that are coming his way," the source elaborated. "He’s reached a new level of fame thanks to the show, and he doesn’t want to close many doors right now, and that’s not the path Chrishell is looking to take."

JUSTIN AND CHRISHELLE'S SWEET START
Although the pair find themselves at different stages in their lives, it wasn't the case when a friend of Justin introduced them in 2014. They went to a concert together and ended up talking all night, and the pair hit it off so well that they became inseparable.
Two years of dating followed before Chrishell and Justin became engaged in July 2016. A long engagement ended with the couple tying the knot during a romantic ceremony at Calamigos Ranch in Malibu on October 28, 2017, exactly four years after they met.

Before the wedding, attended by several of Justin's co-stars, including Chrissy Metz, Milo Ventimiglia, and Mandy Moore, he gushed about his future bride during an interview.
“I love the fact that she’s going to be my wife. I love the fact that I will have a wife, and we’ll be husband and wife and live together,” he said.
NOT THE ONLY FAILED MARRIAGE

Not the first time Justin walked down the aisle, he previously married the soap opera actress Lindsay Korman in 2004. Before Lindsay and Justin divorced in 2012, they welcomed a daughter, Isabella, over whom Justin has joint physical custody.
Relatedly, another celebrity couple shocked fans with news of their divorce after only eight months of marriage. Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus tied the knot in December last after an on and off-again relationship that last years.
However, six months into their marriage, their separation hit the news, followed by Liam ending up filing for divorce.
