Besides being an iconic singer, songwriter and reality star, Toni Braxton carries another hat with pride: being a mom of two boys, whom he shares with ex-husband Keri Lewis.

Although the boys stayed out of the spotlight during most of their childhood, now that they're in their teenage years, and with social media at hand, Denim and Diezel have been enjoying the fame by association they got from their mom and aunts.

On top of that, Diezel made some headlines a few years ago when Toni shared he had been diagnosed with autism, only to say years later that he had been cured.

DENIM COLE BRAXTON-LEWIS

Denim is Toni's firstborn and he was born eight months after his parents tied the knot, in December 2001.

Talking to People in 2005, Braxton admitted that she suffered post-partum depression after bringing Denim into the world. She confessed:

"It was crazy. I cried all the time, I was scared to hold the baby. I went to doctors, I went on Zoloft."

Denim was 12 when his parents decided to get a divorce, a situation that Braxton has explained stemmed from her lupus diagnosed and her inability to keep bringing money to the family for a while as she learned how to live with the disease.

Toni and Keri made tried not to let the divorce affect their individual relationships with the kids, and they work as a team when it comes to encouraging the boys to follow their goals and dreams.

This is why they are so supportive of Denim's basketball abilities since he's a star on the making playing for the Oaks Christian High School, where he's currently in his senior year.

The 17-year-old is also experiencing young love, and he has been with his girlfriend Makaila for over a year already. The young couple seems to be deeply in love, and she has called Denim her "best friend."

DIEZEL KY BRAXTON LEWIS

Diezel is the youngest of the two, and the one already making moves in the entertainment industry.

At 16, Diezel has already signed a modeling contract with Wilhemina Models, the most prominent model agency of the U.S, and has also started acting too.

He has appeared in the series "Family Time," and "Chicken Girls," and the short films "Never Heard," and "Ant," for which he recently won the Best Young Actor award at the Oniros Film Awards, making his mom proud.

On top of that, Diezel made some headlines a few years ago when Toni shared he had been diagnosed with autism, only to say years later that he had been cured.

Braxton's words were controversial because autism is not a disease that can be cured, it's a mental disorder that can include problems with social interactions, and repetitive behaviors, among others, which is why it is classified under a spectrum.

According to experts, what Braxton means is that her son's early diagnose and treatment helped him learn how to control the condition and how to engage with others to lead a more “normal” life.

Either way, it seems like Diezel is growing into a confident and talented young man, and as his parents, he looks forward to leaving his mark in the industry.
