LIL NAS X BREAKS MARIAH CAREY'S LONG-STANDING RECORD

As Mariah Carey continues to set new records, some of her older records also get broken by new acts, and that was the case when Billboard announced in June that one of Mariah's long-held records had been smashed.

Lil Nas X, who sang the summer smash hit, "Old Town Road," beat the records of Luis Fonsi and co.'s "Despacito," as well as Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men's "One Sweet Day," to stake the honor of having the most prolonged stay as a no.1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Mariah Carey was happy for Lil Nas X on his achievement, and shared in his joy, by tweeting a congratulatory message to him.
