Steve Harvey's Wife Marjorie Warned Daughter Lori about Dating Rappers and Athletes Years Ago (Video)

Four years ago, Marjorie Harvey was caught on video telling her daughter, Lori Harvey, not to date rappers but that's exactly what she's been doing lately.

In light of Lori Harvey’s controversial romantic life, an old video of her mother, Marjorie Harvey has re-surfaced. In the clip, the wife of Steve Harvey warns Lori about dating rappers.

Lori has been frequenting headlines the whole year due to the men she’s been linked with. It’s a long list that includes Trey Songz, Diddy, and more recently, Future. It is ironic because back in 2015, her mother warned her specifically not to date rappers.

Marjorie issued her warning when she and Lori appeared on The Steve Harvey Show. Lori was 18 at the time and had the green light to start dating. And her mother had some gems to impart.

First was a list of men she shouldn’t be dating. “No athletes, no rappers, we going to go down the list,” Marjorie had said.

She also counseled Lori to strive to stand and not fit in. “Always be a lady. And understand you are the prize,” she added. “Don’t give yourself to anybody that is not going to be your husband.”

Marjorie revealed she and Steve had been “drilling” into their daughters to carry themselves like a lady. “Being a lady never goes out of style,” she explained.

Lori assured her mother that she had nothing to worry. “I got this,” she said.

But fast forward four years later and we’re hearing about Lori’s colorful dating life and how it seems to go against her mother’s specific instructions. Marjorie warned the 22-year-old against rappers but she’s been linked to three this year - Diddy, Meek Mill, and Future. She was also briefly engaged to Memphis Depay in 2017.

Marjorie has yet to speak up about her daughter’s choices though she didn’t seem to mind when Diddy joined their whole family during their Italian vacation in the summer. Of course, neither Lori nor Diddy ever admitted their relationship so it’s unclear how their parents viewed it at the time.

As for Lori’s alleged current love interest, Future, he seems to be more open about it. In fact, he recently shared a photo of Lori while in Abu Dhabi and complimented her. It wasn’t a confirmation of their rumored romance but it appeared to be a step towards that direction.
