Jaden Smith Talks about His Health after Will & Jada Staged an Intervention Because They Felt He Was Too Thin
Jaden Smith admitted he was uncomfortable about his parents publicizing their concerns regarding his health.

WHAT CONCERNED WILL AND JADA
During the episode which aired on the show's Season 2 premiere, Jaden's parents revealed their concerns over his vegetarian diet that seemed to be negatively affecting his health. Jada shared that she thought her son looked “drained” and wasn’t getting enough nutrients. Will, on the other hand, noticed dark circles around Jaden’s eyes and his graying skin.

This prompted the couple to call an emergency family meeting which turned out to be an intervention. On the September episode, Will and Jada, along with Will’s older son, Trey Smith, the couple’s daughter, Willow Smith, and Jada’s mother, Adrienne Banfield Jones discussed Jaden's issue and opened up about their concerns over his meat-less diet.
The good news is, according to Dr. Mark Hyman who ran tests on Jaden and appeared with the family on the show, the young rapper’s health situation can be easily treated.
JADEN'S REACTION
Months later, Jaden reacted to the episode and revealed people began looking at him differently since then.
On Monday’s episode, after a pep talk from his father, Jaden agreed to appear with his family on the show and opened up about his own feelings regarding the intervention. He says people started to express concern for his health which made him feel uncomfortable.
"After the last episode, I walk in the street, and people are like, 'Oh my God' — they're like, 'Are you sick? Like, can I pick you up? Can I get you some water?'"
The 21-year-old added that it went as far as people offering him food to which he replied, "I'm here eating too. Like, I'm good. Like, I'm fine."
A MEDICAL EXPERT WEIGHS IN
The good news is, according to Dr. Mark Hyman who ran tests on Jaden and appeared with the family on the show, the young rapper’s health situation can be easily treated.
He revealed Jaden’s stomach was sensitive to gluten and dairy. He also lacked vitamin B12, omega-3, and vitamin D due to his zero ingestion of meat.
In order to address this, Dr. Hyman suggested a change in diet and some supplements. “You’re gonna rock the world,” he assured Jaden as long as he adhered to his recommendations.
HOW HIS HEALTH DETERIORATED
Jaden previously shared that his health issues began since turning vegan and due to stress from touring with Tyler the Creator. He said he would eat one to two meals a day only and noticed he wasn’t looking good and lacked sleep.
His sister expressed concern after learning that he would have dizzy spells and was even hospitalized while in Australia. She admitted feeling scared for her brother.
The Smith family admits they all have their food issues which is why this has become a family matter. Here’s hoping Jaden’s health improves now that he knows what's really going on in his system and how to address it.
