However, this year's festivities became extra special after a Christmas card from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, and baby Archie was released, as noted by People.
According to CNN, the card was shared by The Queen's Commonwealth Trust via their official Twitter page.
The tweet, as USA Today reported, featured baby Archie owning the front and center spot as he stared straight at the camera.
Meanwhile, his parents – Megan Markle and Prince Harry – appeared to be sitting in the background as they both smiled under a shining Christmas tree.

The words on the card read:
"Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from our family to yours."
The cute family snap warmed several hearts on social media and they made no hesitation in expressing their delight on Twitter.
While one person stated that little Archie was the leader of the pack, another person added that the tot was "so adorable."
A third fan reiterated that fact, writing:
"Omg!! Love it!! Beautiful family! Gorgeous Archie Harrison taking center stage. He is adorable."
Another fan noted that the toddler's place on the card gave it a "unique appearance."
A fifth Twitter user exclaimed that the 7-month-old royal was "super adorable."
People further revealed that the sweet Christmas pic was shot by Megan's friend, Janina Gavankar – who made a recent appearance on "The Morning Show" alongside actresses Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon.
Janina and Meghan have reportedly been friends since before the "Suits" actress joined the royal family. The publication noted that the photographer had shared several pictures from the royal nuptials and had even captioned one photo,
"Right before we watched our friends combine their hearts, forever."

Upon this revelation into the duo's friendship, it made sense that Janina was hired to snap the picture of the royal family's first-holiday card as a family of three.
Amid the many compliments and cheer that the Christmas card has brought on, People recalled that Prince Harry and Meghan were unavailable during the Queen's annual Christmas lunch.

The reason for their absence would be that the family-of-three took a six-week break from royal duties.
Additionally, a source revealed that the couple's time off was necessary amid worries that the intense scrutiny they faced in recent times has been tough on them.
