Magic Johnson and his wife, Cookie, rang in the New Year like they do most milestone moments: lavishly and with each other. Cookie shared lovely pictures and a video of how they welcomed 2020 together on a luxury yacht.
Celebrities around the world shared footage of how they celebrated the New Year, and Cookie and the NBA legend were no different. The couple went all out with a Yacht party for friends and family members.

Cookie, 60, took to Instagram on January 1 to wish fans a "blessed New Year" and used the opportunity to offer a glimpse of how she celebrated the day with her longtime love, Magic.

The famous couple posed against a backdrop of party decorations, food, and drinks. They even got into the festive spirit with matching goofy sunglasses. Cookie later offered a more precise look at the party with a video.
"We wish everyone a blessed New Year, as we usher in a new decade!! New beginnings are on the horizon!!" she captioned the post that has since gotten thousands of likes and comments from internet users.
"Wow!! Now, that's a celebration. Stunning! Enjoy!!" gushed one Instagram user while another echoed the sentiment and returned Cookie's good wishes: "This is breathtaking! Happy New Year to you as well!"
JOINT JOHNSON BIRTHDAY
2019 was a beautiful year for Magic and Cookie as a couple, especially in September, when they went all out to celebrate both their 28th wedding anniversary and their joint 60th birthdays.
While Cookie clocked the milestone age on January 20 and Magic on August 14, the pair decided to hold a joint bash for family and friends in St. Tropez, France. From the photos and videos that made it to social media, the party was worth the wait.
CELEBRATING LOVE
Cookie and Magic, who share two kids, had quit the star-studded guest list, with celebrities like Angela Bassett, Jennifer Lopez, Courtney B. Vance, Spike Lee, Boris Kodjoe, Nicole Ari Parker, Chris Tucker, and Samuel L. Jackson, making an appearance.
Later in September, Cookie and Magic (born Earvin Johnson Jr.) celebrated almost three decades of marriage with heartfelt posts on social media. They then enjoyed dinner with friends at a Los Angeles restaurant.
NAVIGATING THE DOWNS
Magic and Cookie were married on September 14, 1991, but the love between them seems to burn as brightly as the first day, despite going through several rough patches in the duration of their marriage.
Forty-five days after saying "I do," Magic would confess to his new bride that he was HIV-positive. "It scared me to death. I mean, I fell to my knees," Cookie once recalled. "We both fell on our knees, and we started crying."
LOVING A GAY SON
Despite the stigma surrounding HIV at the time, Cookie stood by her husband and joined him in becoming an advocate for increased awareness about the condition. "We're gonna figure out how to beat this thing,'" she recalled saying to the former basketball star.
Many years later, Cookie and Magic also had to deal with the backlash that came from their son, E.J. Johnson, coming out as gay. Both agreed to love and accept their child no matter what, and they continue to do so.
E.J, 27, is Magic and Cookie's only biological child. The couple adopted a daughter in 1995 while Magic has a 38-year-old son, Andre, from a previous relationship. Today, however, they are all members of one big family.
