Melanie Griffith Posts Pic of Ex-Husband Antonio Banderas as She Congratulates Him on Oscar Nod
Melanie Griffith showed she is indeed her ex-husband, Antonio Banderas' best friend, with a new photo post celebrating his Academy Award nomination.
The Oscar nominations are out, and "Milk Money" star, Melanie Griffith's ex-husband, Antonio Banderas, made the list! The actress congratulated him with a photo post on Instagram.
The snap showed the actress's arms wrapped around the neck of the actor. The former couple wore a smile and covered their eyes with dark sunglasses.

HAPPY AND PROUD
Griffith captioned the snap,
"Congratulations, Antonio! Academy Award Nomination for Best Actor! I am so happy for you, and so proud of you. Bravo Guapo. Xoxo."
The congratulatory message got the attention of the nominated actor, and he commented with three kiss emojis. Other followers of his ex-wife also joined her in congratulating him.
HIS FIRST OSCAR NOD
Some followers dropped heart-shaped emojis, while others used the fire emoji. One person described the post as "Sweet," while another wrote that the actor deserves to win.
They were married for nearly 20 years, and share a daughter, Sarah Banderas
Banderas' nomination is the first-ever he has gotten in a movie career spanning several decades. The dad-of-one got the Oscar nod for his role in the film, "Pain and Glory;" he played the role of an aged movie director going through a creative crisis.
TOUGH BUT IN HIGH SPIRITS
The actor is vying for the coveted award alongside Leonardo Di Caprio, Joaquin Phoenix, Adam Driver, and Jonathan Pryce. The leading actor award is highly competitive, but Banderas seems relaxed about it.
The actor got photographed dressed in a black biker jacket, white polo, blue jeans, and brown boots while walking the streets of Malaga after the Oscar nod. He was evidently in high spirits and had a smile on his face.

BEST FRIEND AND FAMILY FOREVER
Banderas' recognition for his work on "Pain and Glory" began this January. He got recognized at the International Star Award at the 31st annual Palm Springs International Film Festival.
The actor has gotten nominated for several awards in the past, and while he won some, he lost others. In 2018, after losing an Emmy nomination for his role in "Genius," Griffith was there to support him.
The former couple had divorced at the time; they were married for nearly 20 years, and share a daughter, Sarah Banderas. The "Legend of Zorro" star once told ET that the "Working Girl" actress is, and will always be his family.
He also described the mother of his only child as his best friend, and they always have each other's back. Thus, win or lose the Oscar Awards, Griffith will be there to support Banderas.
