The 53 years old actress sees joining the show as a better choice than succumbing to the cravings of the mid-life crisis; which include doing something crazy like buying a new car.

In an interview with PEOPLE, she joked as she opened up about why she decided to join the show. She said:

“I feel like, ‘Why not?’ I wanted to do something outside of the box. It is sort of like my midlife crisis. Instead of buying a Corvette or doing something crazy, I joined the Housewives.”

The middle-aged actress is at the point in her life where she is making bold choices. Not just in her career path, but also her fashion sense.

In a recent post on her Instagram page, Garcelle showed off her beauty by wearing a smoky eyeliner and a very dark shade of blue lipstick. She looked bold and beautiful.

From the show, Garcelle has learned never to let her guard down “Because one minute they are laughing with you and the next minute, they are throwing you under the bus.”

Garcelle managed to work her way up to being the very first African American Housewife on the show. She saw it as an opportunity to show that black magic thrives everywhere. She said to The Daily Dish:

“…As the first African American Housewife in the Beverly Hills franchise, I am honored and humbled by this awesome opportunity to exemplify the fact that Black Girl Magic lives and thrives in every zip code!”

The mother of three who has been married twice has had to adjust to the new chapter of her life as it is different from the kind of entertainment she was used to.

Garcelle Beauvais said it’s exciting for her because unlike acting where she takes up a character in front of the cameras, on the reality show, all she has to do is show up being herself.

From the show, Garcelle has learned never to let her guard down “Because one minute they are laughing with you and the next minute, they are throwing you under the bus,” she said.

Being on the show has also helped the actress discover herself. She said she found out that shes a lot more sensitive than she thought.
