Jane Seymour Talks Being the Best Version of Herself at 69 & Reveals She's Lost 12 Pounds at 2020 SAG Awards
The 26th “Screen Actors Guild Awards” (SAG) were held on Sunday night, January 19, 2020. In attendance was actress Jane Seymour, 68, who discussed her awards look and health.
Seymour attended the 2020 SAG Awards wearing a shiny silver dress designed by Tadashi Shoji. While on the silver carpet, the actress explained why she’d chosen her particular outfit.
Seymour, who is less than a month away from turning 69, stated:
“I decided to give myself a gift of being the best me I can be at my age, naturally. And so in the last three weeks, I dropped 12 pounds.”
How Seymour lost so much weight
Her weight loss wasn’t an easy feat as she had to make some sacrifices and changes to her diet. The star explained:
“I’m doing intermittent fasting and I decided not to drink any alcohol for 23 days and this is what happened.”
Her 2020 SAG Awards nomination
The “Dr. Quinn: Medicine Woman” alum was nominated at the SAG Awards for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Motion Picture for her supporting role on “The Kominsky Method as Madelyn.”
On the show, the actress plays the love interest of Alan Arkin’s character. One scene forced their two actor’s characters to have an intimate moment.
Meeting Alan Arkin’s wife
When Arkin and Seymour read-through the script, that’s when they realized there would be an intimate scene. After the read-through, the actress’s co-star came up to her and asked her to join him and his wife, Suzanne, for brunch.
The American-British actress got along very well with Suzanne and they even joked about the latter taking Arkin for herself. Seymour will officially turn 69 on February 15, 2020.
The benefits of weight loss
An upside to her weight loss was that her slimmer figure was financially beneficial and “cheaper” because she could now fit into her “old clothes.” Seymour’s sequined gown featured a draped cowl neckline and spaghetti straps.
