Amid the news of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's departure from the Royal Family, reports have claimed that Prince William and his wife, Kate Middleton, have found sustenance in the latter's mother, Carole Middleton.

The Sun reported that the Duke of Cambridge looks up to his mother-in-law as a "second mother." The site claimed that Royal author Phil Dampier told Fabulous Digital that Harry and Meghan's exit had put a lot more pressure on William and Kate.

"William wasn't the only one who looked up to his mother-in-law as Prince Harry felt the same way about Meghan's mother, Doria Ragland."

During his interview, Phil had also stated that Carole would be "a stabilizing and supportive force in the background," when the need arose.

William's alleged respect for the 65-year-old reportedly stems from the fact that his mother-in-law worked herself up with a successful business.

According to Daily Mail, a close source claimed that William and Kate had visited Berkshire quite a few times since Meghan and Harry's exit.

As it turned out, William wasn't the only one who looked up to his mother-in-law as Prince Harry felt the same way about Meghan's mother, Doria Ragland, per Closer Weekly.

A source told the news outlet that although Harry was closer to Doria than his actual family, she would never replace his mother, Princess Diana.

That, however, has done nothing to stop the Duke of Sussex from seeing his mother-in-law as a "mother figure." Additionally, Meghan, who relocated to Canada in early January, has spent time with her mother, per a People report.

The social worker was spotted spending time with her daughter and Harry in the weeks that led up to the couple's announcement that they were stepping down as senior royals.

The couple's shared love for Doria might have contributed to their angry reaction when Thomas Markle, Meghan's father, threatened to do monthly interviews unless Meghan got in touch with him.

Things became even more heated when Thomas dragged Doria into the already messy situation. According to Cosmopolitan, a source stated that Thomas's attempt to drag Doria into the situation was a "desperate move" as she was innocent.

The source added that if Meghan decided to talk to her father again, it would undoubtedly be her own choice.
