The tallest building in the world pays tribute to the memory of Kobe Bryant and Gigi.
The tragic deaths of NBA legend Kobe Bryant and his young daughter have affected people all over the world.
Tributes have come from around the globe, from Italy to Indonesia, from the United Kingdom to Iceland. Now the tallest building in the world, the Burj Khalifa, is honoring the NBA legend and his beloved Gigi with an extraordinary display.
The Italian Basketball Association has declared an official one-week-mourning period for the man they consider one of their own.

BEAUTIFUL LIGHT SHOW HONORS KOBE AND GIANNA BRYANT
Visitors to Dubai were moved when the Burj Khalifa - the world's tallest building - lit up in tribute to Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna, recently deceased in a helicopter crash.
The 828m edifice became a giant screen, on which an image of the NBA player and his daughter was projected in a soft wash of purple and gold - the colors of the LA Lakers.

INTERNATIONAL STAR IS MOURNED IN DUBAI
Kobe, who is considered one of the greatest basketball players in history, has millions of fans worldwide. Dubai is only one of the many places outside the United States who has paid tribute to the American star.

ITALY MOURNS FOR A WEEK
In Italy, where Kobe lived part of his childhood, and where he first played basketball, the Italian Basketball Association has declared an official one-week-mourning period for the man they consider one of their own.
It seems as if the whole world is mourning the loss of one of the world's greatest athletes and a man with an extraordinary work ethic.
His daughter Gianna, who shared his passion and talent for basketball, and promised to follow in his footsteps is another painful loss.
Vanessa Bryant is left to raise her three surviving daughters - Natalia, 17, Bianka, 3 and Capri seven months - on her own.

The grieving Vanessa Bryant has reached out to designer and illustrator Reina Koyano and thanked her for the beautiful portrait of her recently deceased daughter, Gianna.
Vanessa reposted the illustration, which shows a smiling Gigi wearing her father's Lakers jersey and team jacket, with a basketball under her arm. Vanessa wrote:
"Seeing my babygirl smile and happy again with a basketball ? under her arm, wrapped in ??love just warmed my heart."
Reina, a talented Japanese artist, lives in Los Angeles, and paid tribute to "Mambacita." She has made the illustration a free download for all of Kobe and Gianna Bryant's fans
