Barbara Eden from 'I Dream of Jeannie' Opens up about 29-Year Marriage to Her Husband Jon Eicholtz
American actress and singer, Barbara Eden opened up about her marriage to her husband, John Eicholtz, whom she tied the knot with 29 years ago.
The legendary entertainment icon, Barbara Eden has been married to her husband, John Eicholtz since 1991.

Almost three decades down the line, the couple are still together, basking strong in their union. Revealing the key to their marital success, the 88-year old divulged:
“You should walk in the other person’s shoes if you’re having a little problem. Try to see their ‘I’m’ side of it. It’s not easy! But try.”
The 88-year-old also left some advice to married couples, saying they should be themselves, and not crave to be someone else.
By adhering to her marriage hacks, the “I Dream Of Jeannie” icon’s union has lasted for decades, surviving several hardships, and tragedy including the loss of her only son.

The movie star, who has been married three times encountered a major hurdle in her life when she suffered the loss of her only son, to drug overdose. The then-35-year-old died a few weeks to his wedding.

Opening up about the tragedy that befell her family, the mother recounted her son’s battle with hard drugs which began when he was nine. According to the actress, the child adopted the habit shortly after her divorce from his father.
During a sit down on “Oprah: Where Are They Now,” the star revealed details about her relationship with her late son, whom she shared with her first husband, Michael Ansara. She explained:
“Having my son, I had no idea it would be so emotional and so wonderful. It was the most wonderful thing that ever happened in my life.”
The icon welcomed her son, Matthew, in 1965. The pregnancy surfaced during her run on the Network TV show, “I Love Jeannie,” prompting the network to hide her pregnancy with props through the shooting of the first thirteen episodes.
She got pregnant again after Matthew’s birth, but the baby was stillborn. The grief led to her break down, and eventual divorce.
Many recall that the singer has lived through two previous divorces before meeting the love of her life. Two years after her divorce from Michael, she met and married her next husband, Charles Donald. Their union lasted five years.
In 1991, the songstress got married to an architect, John Eicholtz, nine years after divorcing her second husband. Although the pair has no kids together, they have proven to be soulmates.
The duo has spent the last decades traveling, meeting new people and places, and celebrating their love.
